The buyback only seems good with Treasure Cruise and Stoke (which can be cast for 0 and 1 mana). Other than those spells, it is pretty miserable. Maybe this guy can be sideboard tech for burn mirrors, but I don't see him doing much more than that. As for older formats, I don't think this dude has a chance. He might be sideboard tech for burn mirrors, even then he dies to bolt though, so it's spending 3 mana to save 3 damage which doesn't seem good.

Now THAT'S a card! Wow, do you think that guy is going to be part of a new legacy deck? The extra mana might be prohibitive, but he's definitely an upgrade over young pyromancer. The only downside is that turn four-five is a bit late to be swinging in with guys in legacy, but maybe he's strong enough. Those tokens would be ridiculous in a cantrip shell.... People totally get excited by the wrong cards. Compare this guy to soulfire grandmaster, which people are pre-ordering for $20 bucks now. It's retarded.....

I like Monastery Siege for some kind of blue control (UB probably) in standard. I imagine most o the time you play the Khans mode to get some nice card selection and more cards to delve away. The Dragons mode seems like it could be great in some matchups, if you drop it against burn, it should buy you a couple turns to stabilize.

This set seems really really pushed in terms of power level. The whole block does, actually. it also triggers on ANY non creature spell which is a huge deal, like vintage fast mana's, or standards chained to the rocks, this card seems like the absolute nuts

It's retarded..... yeah the grandmaster is certainly fine but not in this cards ball park(especially as the grandmaster is not much better then a bear in a reasonable amount of mu's), its amazing in some but most of those mu's also play a ton of cheap burn(it still seems like a very solid card ofc). its also narrow in the scope of decks its good in
