This time, I'm wondering about Omnitell. Just lost in a local event top 8 to it (ended up 4th). I had what I thought were pretty solid hands (goblin guide + eidolon first game, Eidolon with REB to protect him second), but couldn't get there. Lost to double force of will on the eidolon and REB second game, so maybe some bad luck there, but still that fucking combo seems quick. I run typical burn, lavamancers over swiftspears because I operate in a creature-heavy meta. My sideboard looks something like this. 2 vexing shushers 2 pyrostatic pillars 2 sulfuric vortex 3 Red elemental blasts 3 Smash to smithereens 3 Ensnaring bridge Against Omnitell, I sideboard out my prices and searing blazes for the pillars, REBs, and bridges. I also trade out my singleton mainboard vortex for a shusher, because vortex is useless in that match-up. What are some good recommendations/tips for the match-up that folks might have? It seems to mostly be about speed, and slamming a pillar/eidolon asap. But the wish package is pretty brutal to play against :/

I'm guessing the other three and maybe Sarkhan / Narset will be around in the next coming blocks.

Supposedly after KTK they were supposed to go back to Zendikar and try to re-seal the Eldrazi, but they're nowhere to be seen in the promo artwork and the other set seems to indicate we're gonna get another Chandra and Jace to go with the Nissa and Gideon from this set. And what about fucking Kiora? She's supposed to be there too... It would be sick if we got like 8 planeswalkers from Zendikar

I actually wish they did this more often to be able to introduce other walkers without making the "core" planeswalkers disappear. For example, Ajani being in different spells even whne Gideon is the main one they are pushing for white. Or Garruk being the black one for a time even when Lili is still in cards. Etc...

Happened to me in Modern weekly last night, but jesus. Nothing in Magic infuriates me more than when a guy is playing his entrie deck in various languages and when I ask him what a particular card does, he goes "Do I really have to tell you/you seriously don't know?" (I never fought GW Aura's before).

Looking to get more into Standard once Theros rotates out (since I started very late in the Theros block really paying attention to stuff, I've played more table top Magic for a number of years) I could write a list of stuff I have if needed but figured I'd ask if there are any solid looking R/B shells going into this Zendikar/Tarkir Standard that anyone has discovered? Otherwise just kinda wondering what people are playing these days as I haven't really kept up with the scene over the past 6 months or so.... Thoughts? If there's a better place to ask this let me know~

+ Show Spoiler + It's a ton of fun but loses handily to any deck with a clear game plan. The wincon is to constantly attack with Bloodsoaked champion (B, 2/1, raid-1B return to battlefield), thornbow archer (B, 1/1, when it attacks, opponents lose a life if they have no elves) and zombie tokens while they have no hand. Not the most elegant gameplan but the extra cards, mana, and zombies I get from waste not usually mean I can constantly have more creatures on the field than my opponent. Also it has the new lilliana. It wins against bad decks and decks that are short on creature control, uses fun cards like waste not and lilliana AND makes my friends mad at me when it destroys their entire hand. Are there any straight up discard cards in standard that compete with/surpass mind rot? I already have thoughtseize and duress but I would optimally like a card that causes them to draw and then discard. Common late game pitfalls occur when I have 2x waste not on the field, a handful of chump blockers but the opponent is able to just draw and play their hand before my turn. I guess I could make it U/B hand destruction control but that's not as fun as beatdown hand destruction. I'd post a decklist but it's not on me at the moment but it has the new version of fleshbag (2B, enters battlefield, both players sac a creature) and sign in blood. What's the good mono B removal in standard? I'm using phalaka's curse as a janky spot removal tool
