Anyone got any tips? I've played on insanity all the way through, really don't want to lower diff just because of this fight but no matter what I do I seem to get instakilled when the phantoms come Playing soldier, been using the first assault rifle you get all game, don't really remember the name but it's lvl 5, it's been really easy(wish there was something harder than insanity) but I've been a gamer for about 13 years now so no sp is really hard but this one phase just seems wierd, fight is incredibly easy until he calls out the phantoms and then it's death within 5-15 seconds. One of their "arrow" shots takes 1/3 of my hp, so 3 = death, and their melee attacks 2 shot , 1 for shield & 1 for hp bar Got edi with the nuke and liara with the cc with me, pretty much same setup all game. Got adrenaline + both passives maxed.
Are you using grenades? Also, using the first assault rifle is just gimping yourself, why not use the Geth Pulse Rifle or M-76 Revenant, or even better, the Particle Rifle? You could also consider what bonus power you're using - Energy Drain could be useful to help to rid the Phantoms of their barriers and give yourself extra damage reduction.

How does one beat the last part of the game on insanity as infiltrator??..So....many banshees

Hitting the button will end the mission immediately.

I wished Bioware would release a message telling us that the ending was actually a premade april fool's joke, and that the real one is a free DLC with 5 hours extra content.

Speaking of April Fool's, it looks like Notch wasn't the only one to take a crack at ME3. Blizzard got in on it as well:

"Multiple endings, each influenced by your choices and color-coded for your convenience! (Further epic endings planned for post release as downloadable content.)"

Metzen is one of the worst writers in all of gaming. Blizzard bringing this up is only furher self-humiliating.

Well, atleast indoctrination sound better than being corrupted for the eleventh time. If you know what i mean.

Well you cant blame bioware for bad writing in general because the rest of the game belongs to the best of the best in terms of writing. Some people seem to forget everything because of the end.

- last decade texture (at least in ME1 it was low all around but in ME2 & ME3 it really stands out when some of the texture is really good and looks absolutely dreadful on another part of the body)
- journal & hotkeys taking a step back
- DA2-styled sidequests
- Tali's photoshopped face
- Zaeed/Kasumi-styled dialogue
- less dialogue choices
- forced drama (the beginning in particular
- dropped Dark Energy subplot that was building in ME2
- no exploration
- beginning
- the kid and Shepard's nightmares about him
- lack of a proper intro for Vega making him feel tacked on (liked his personality though especially with the other crewmembers)
- Diana Allers aka Jessica Chobot('nuff said) and Emily Wong being replaced.
- Decisions made in previous games being simplified to a 10 point differential if you saved/destroyed the Collector Base, or if you killed the Rachni Queen a clone just happens to pop up in her stead.
- Jondam Bau: A Spectre being taken down with 0 resistance by a half-husk. So much for: “Spectres are not trained, but chosen. Individuals forged in the fire of service and battle—those whose actions elevate them above the rank and file.”
- How some of the crew members have a LOT of dialogue, and then some of them having very little like Ashley or Liara.
- Sidelining ME2 characters
- Too much focus on Cerberus. Kinda reminded me of Loghain was the focus in DA:O and Archdemon taking a backseat.

As much as I remember, the Queen (If saved in ME1) gives you +100 with Rachni Workers in Alien tab. If not saved in ME1, her counterpart actually betrays you and you lose 100 TMS with Engineers in Crucible tab.

Apparently the best thing to do anyway is sacrifice her and save the Krogan team.

Like that one scene with Shepard raising his / her hand (in the docs on the citadel) to talk on comms? I believe even the psx had better textures than the garbage presented there.
But ah... To have Kasumi and Liara on the same squad >.<

Nope. Krogan Arakh (?) squad doesn't give more than her worker aid. You actually get +75 TMS if you save her (since you lose 25 with Krogan squad).

Its kinda funny because the current Starcraft II arc is a complete rip off of Mass Effect. Replace Reapers with Xel'naga and you pretty much got a perfect match.

Er...not really. Who is Kerrigan in Mass Effect?

Nobody but consider the following.
Zerg = Geth Raynor = Shepard Xel'naga = Reapers
Raynor has to unite the galaxy, including former enemies, in order to save the galaxy from a threat incoming from Dark Space.
Shepard has to unite the galaxy, including former enemies, in order to save the galaxy from a threat incoming from Dark Space.
Same general formula. I guess I am supposed to mention the original threat from dark space, Cthulhu.
The list goes on really. Im sure people can add things to the list
Mengsk = Cerberus, perverting science. Im just waiting for Mengsk to come out and say that he expects to control the incoming threat.
In the opening sequences of the plot:
A Reaper compromises the Geth in order to serve his desires to bring about a new age of complete galactic annihilation. A Dark One compromises the Zerg in order to serve his desires to bring about a new age of complete galactic annihilation. Though this happens in the vision of the apocalypse.
Its not identical but the subtext is clear.

Didn't BW already establish, by virtue of psi emitters, that Mengsk had / currently is still looking into controlling the Zerg?

Yeah, there are some similarities. But if you try hard enough you can find similarities between almost every SciFi out there.
