This is also true from the sniper's point of view.
And kills get a ton of XP. 100 base+streak bonus+population bonus+headshot bonus+some streak enders means 200-300 XP from most kills and you can rack them up pretty quickly...
Edit: 100th page snipe headshot?

Actually, that's very true. Every goddamn person I rez just takes off and doesn't let me heal them to full.
Every. Goddamn. Person.

I wish I was actually playing the "infiltrator" side of the class instead of the camp and farm side. The only useful thing I've ever done is hack a console to pull sundys. I want that behind enemy lines sabotage feeling

How do you know if you're too close to another sunderer to deploy your sunderer?

On the minimap there is a circle around the other deployed sunderer. You can't setup your sunderer inside that circle. The circle is only visible while you are driving the sunderer.

I'm really enjoying this game so far. My favorite classes at the moment are heavy assault and infiltrator.
I made the mistake of buying the silencer for the sniper though, and it sucks so hard it's absurd. The bullets just drop so much faster that it's pretty much impossible to use at too long of a distance...
to the person named LeCorb in game: I keep accepting your friend requests but it's not working for some reason, try asking someone else in the outfit to invite you lol Also I'm on PS2 right now if anyone wants an invite to the waterson vs outfit

Made the same fuckin mistake man. Was sniping from one of the corners of their base only dying when I ran out of ammo. Figured I'd get a silencer so nobody saw the dot. Horrible idea. I can't hit shit with that thing.

if this game's buying system wasn't fucking stupid you guys wouldn't even be complaining. sadly it is.

I'll be on to invite players for most of the weekend. Add me and I'll get to you soon.

I feel like you are really looking hard for stuff to dislike in that game...
The game itself has a few bugs - for example the graphic glitch that made me end the game session a few minutes ago - but as far as the unlock system goes, there isn't really anything wrong with it. As far as i remember, the description of the silencer even says "reduces projectile speed" or something like that. At least i remember reading the description of the silencer and then thinking "nah, sounds bad, i'll pick something else".
Unlocking stuff takes a while, sure, but it's an MMO, you shouldn't be able to have everything after a week. Yes, sometimes you spend your certs on the wrong item and waste a few hours of cert gain but i also remember playing other MMOs and spending a weeks worth of gold on an item that turned out being useless. It's the same thing basically.
|
I love the game. I hate the unlocking system. You get way too few Certs with capturing, and imo you gain too much by healing/repairing. Also, if you pay like 60 euro, you can buy like 2-3 months worth of stuff, not counting the boost. The fact that I have to spend 300~ on my tank just to be competitive with it is basically preventing me from playing it whatsoever. After playing for 8 hours, I've probably still not made enough to unlock C4. And there's a bunch more shit. It just feels so demotivating and it's ruining an otherwise really well done game. Lol, spending lots of gold on an useless item? What ''MMO''RPG were you playing, diablo 3? Don't know if y ou played blacklight retribution but that game lets you buy shit for like 1/10 of the price and lets you use it for like 3 days. The buying model and buying incentives are done much better that game. I'm only complaining because this game is so good and fun. Yeah, and the weapons also show hard numbers, from bullet velocity to reload speed. None of that bar bullshit.
|
I actually feel like this wouldn't be a problem if they could just display the actual statistics of a weapon instead of this bar nonsense. For example, according to the game, both the default semi-automatic sniper and a bolt-action sniper have full bars and one might think there isn't a difference. But the bolt-action one does 750, which kills with a headshot, while the default does 400, which doesn't.

Just thought I'd share something about this game that I have done some thorough testing on, though I bet a lot of people have found this out too
The fall damage in this game seems to be based off the time you spend falling and not the speed at which you impact the ground, like some other engines do It counts contacting terrain with your feet at all the same as not falling, so if you can find a place that it's possible to slide down, you won't take damage when you hit the bottom. So you can basically climb down every cliff in the game without dying if you find a good route to slide down For instance, I just descended from the cliff above Arroyo Torre Station without taking any damage to my health, though I did mess up a little bit and took shield damage. The cliff is about 200m tall for reference, which would be a fall that would have definitely killed me.

I could spend money to unlock some things in this game if
a) they would't be stupidly high priced. 5 to 10 dollars for a single cert the fuck? Okay guys, this gun right here, it's worth 1/6 of a game. How you like dat?
b) you only unlock for 1 character. Any character you create on other server, faction, region, doesn't get it. High price + this = fook off SOE.

I wouldn't buy anything unless it is a double station cash deal or the item is on sale. If you wait a little bit it is likely that the gun/item you want will be on sale. If you combine these two you basically get items for 1/4 of their original price. Besides, I don't feel like the default gear or the cheap gear is that far behind the expensive stuff, they feel more like side grades to me. The fact that it only unlocks for one character is pretty annoying but I only play on one character anyway so it doesn't effect me all that much.

What's a good weapon for a heavy assault to buy after the default one? Ideally it would work better over range and still have a decent clip size.

If you are VS the Pulsar LSW is pretty good. It is basically an upgraded version of the default. You could also go with a Battle Rifle which is similar to an M14 from CoD.
