The lore references are kinda esoteric though... if you just watched the movies and didn't read a lot of it will be unfamiliar. Silmarilion-level stuff. I rather enjoyed it. It's not terribly difficult even at its toughest, and the endgame stuff is pretty crazy OP, but it's deeply satisfying and the emergent narrative generation is on-fucking-point. The orcs have gobs of personality, which is wonderful.

The Completionism is not my thing so I diddn't do all of the "find item zyx and get a little lore for it" stuff. Beat the whole game (DLC not included) in like 6-8 hours. Haven't completed the DLCs though. The fighting sure is nice and I had lots of fun beating the original game. After my current run I'll tackle the "Bright Master" DLC fully. Definitely worth the 5 bucks. Though I don't think much of it is canon.

The discounts have slowly become a bit more modest than they used to be, and a lot of the indie games that used to catch my eye aren't as exciting to pick up when I know that the good ones will show up in Humble Bundles eventually anyway for even cheaper. That said, I'll still keep my eye out for AAA titles like Witcher 3 or Civ 6 getting noteworthy discounts. I find the humble bundle quality lacking lately... I dunno... Inside+Undertale+Dirty Rally+Turing Test in a bundle for $12 USD is really good. Don't know what your expectations are. Those games for 50 cents? That would be insane but I feel pretty good with what I got. I've been able to pick up games like X-Com2, Stardew, Mother Russia Bleeds, Hotline Miami 2 for far less than what I would pay on a Steam Summer/Winter sale. Maybe better deals existed in the past, but I certainly don't feel ripped off and I wouldn't say that the bundles are low quality. Maybe it's just less consistent now, but I'm pretty happy with a lot of the bundles I'm getting

Games like FTL that I got from them are just soo good. But lately there wasn't much appeal in the bundled games for me personally. Not saying the games are crap, just not my taste. That could've been said more clearly.

In fairness, FTL might be the best indie game of the last 10 years. It's just mindblowingly good. Haven't seen anything quite at that standard recently, but there's definitely good stuff. At the current bundle's 1 USD tier Steamworld Heist is a lot of fun. Kind of like some weird mix between Worms and X-com or something.
