Herald of ash just straight owns though for phys builds. And has an even better flaming hands effect.

I couldn't play much last night, only got to lv14, and poked around about after Brutus. The new Brutus fight is MUCH improved, cannot wait to see the other improvements to old fights. As I said before I'm lv14 (witch) and haven't even placed a skill point yet. For the life of me, I just cannot choose a build. I'd like to be a spell caster this run since it's something I haven't done before in PoE, and leaning towards some sort of Ice build but I'm just so lost after taking such a long break from the game.

I've made 2 bow chars in the new leagues, 1 HC 1 SC. However the HC one is shadow start with the intention of going CI and the SC one is ranger start going life, and I think I have it reversed in terms of how I *should* do it. Shadow starts with WAYYYYYY better damage nodes and then picks up surivivability "as needed", plus I feel like having instant flasks, never having to do CI transition, and not having to worry about freeze/stun makes life much better for me personally to play HC whereas CI probably has a better end-game at the cost of a more awkward transition and higher chance of death midgame which is obviously a more SC-oriented build. Oops.

I love the corrupted areas that seem like mini-maps and the new forsaken masters content seems neat too. It's funny how much has changed since March '13, which is the last time I was truly hardcore into this game.

I accidentally summoned 2 portals together on ledge and one spawned regen ones. That took a while. I actually like the way beyond paces the gameplay compared to rampage. Rampage bonuses are kinda dumb and make u run around looking for mobs instead of playing at ur own pace whereas beyond makes you really think out your pacing, spacing, and kiting. The masters quests are pretty cool imo although doing them in groups seems a tad buggy sometimes.

1) I think herald of Ice is not very good overall, although being completely flat-damage based we'll have to see the level 20 numbers. 2) Somebody mentioned a 100% fire conversion Burning Arrow/Ele Prolif build that sounds amazing. Of note, you can get 99% Chance to Ignite with 0 uniques (burning arrow lvl 20, 20q IBD, 20% from the tree, and level 20 chance to ignite) but I feel like the build just makes more sense with crits. I'm not really sure if Chin Sol + Point blank would be the way to go or just a well rolled harbringer with WED + PPAD + Increased Critical Damage supports. Would probably have to be Avatar of Fire since blackgleam is legacy now (i think?) and a bad quiver anyway. Herald of Ash is absurd with this especially since the sources of ignite should stack. 3) I'm really digging the new life flasks tbh, it's actually so much sustain (and I plan on getting more life-flask effect nodes).

1. LMP or GMP? (Ive heard arguments both ways, have been leaning towards getting a GMP) 2. To crit or not to crit? I left my build open ended and I have to make a decision soon as to whether I should invest heavily into crit nodes or not. At first I thought "No" because I was using ice spear as a single target and it almost always crit so I was just gonna get come crit multiplier. But now Im not so sure because freezing pulse is doing so well and is amazing when it crits. Help!

Ice Spear: depends. Crit: IMO crit owns but thats up to you. Ice spear does indeed have 50% critchance anyway at range.

Damage is a function of both Crit Chance and Mult multiplicatively so the multiplicative damage increase grows for each node that you get (as opposed to increased damage/speed nodes which lessen for each node). Therefore it's best to invest heavily into crit or not at all. Since FP and Ice Spear have relatively high base crit 6/7%, it is worth going crit.

I have a question; can I die in the merc missions? Or some of them, like the one where you get "trained" by Haran or whats his name. Do I get send to standard or just fail the mission?

Is GGG doing a good job or what ? The demons are still tanky as fuck, and still don't drop shit. "Added extra drop rewards for top-tier Beyond demons." So if you dont plan on killing a shit tonne of them, drops are still trash. Im still having a blast in the league, its just sometimes, its impossible to avoid spawning a bunch of demons. If there's a shrine, demons, if theres a strongbox, demons. I was in a party trying to kill Dom, and 2nd tier demons spawnd, it was near impossible to kill everything. Frankly it feels exactly like Invasion again, shit gets out of control and you need to reset or even log out, and with drops being as bad as they are, its just a game of running away while killing low hp mobs on the way out of a zone. Anyways, enough complaining, doing a Shockwave totem build, lol got ancestral bond @ lvl 24. That was way to fucking early rofl, but still going strong, and seems to only get better every lvl. My weekend has started, and i plan on playing a hell of alot.
