Respecing isn't a bad thing, especially with 18 free points. Time saved has huge value, especially in the shorter duration. Do you know what the best selffound leveling spell setup is? Arc, Dualflametotem firetrap, Flameblast, Cascade? There is no "best" but there are ones that are better than others. The best reference from what ive seen the best racers in the game use(People like throzz, helmann etc): lightning tendril templar, firetrap/ice nova sin. Stuff like that. Basically you want things with really strong nodes early on that you can chain together. Flameblast is also very good. But really most elemental based spells will be good early on because they can be scaled very quickly. You want to check which skills are granted by early game quests and go from there. You never want to be in a situation where you have to get lucky to make your build, and having to take time to trade is only going to slow you down. All elemental spell builds can craft a +1 gems wand or scepter which will give you a huge advantage. (its a topaz/ruby/sapphire ring + a magic wand and an orb of alteration; the +1 skills will give you more dps than a large amount of spell dmg % increase) By the way any experienced PoE players interested in grouping up for the 1 month? We should get a group going. Much more efficient that way because we can share items based on who needs what. I'm pretty hyped for the 1-month! Is this on HC or SC? I haven't played in a while so very possibly rusty. Never really done any racing but can push lvls decently on release :3

there will be both sc and hc versions of the 1 month, and i heard that there will be separate prizes for each now.
btw i get this vibe that TL clan is more towards SC these days...

For leveling: If you are playing a caster: Imo the way to level the fastest is to play Lightning Tendrils with a +1 lightning wand early on and then switch to Flameblast somewhere in the end of Cruel or start of Merciless.
If you are playing melee: In HC probably play ground slam if Mace/Staff, since it's fairly safe. However I'm a Leap Slam fan as it's imo the fastest way to level.
If you are playing ranged: I dunno, probably the slowest leveling if I'm not wrong. I'm not quite experienced on what's the fastest, but my guess would be Rain of Arrows into Tornado Shot (when you get get LMP).
If you ask me leveling casters is the easiest, unless you play bow and buy Death's Harp. Though leaping through normal is easy as well. However melee gets difficult in cruel/merciless if you find no good resistance gear (and don't want to buy or it's the start of league).

Spell categories IMO as a spellcaster fanatic
FOTM/Excellent Arc Flameblast Fire Trap Incinerate Discharge SRS (i consider this as spell not minion)
Decent Ball Lightning Glacial cascade Ice Nova Shockwave Totem Flame totem RF/flame surge Tendrils Storm call
Okish/CoC shit Arctic Breath Detonate Dead Freeze pulse EK Fireball Firestorm Lightning Trap Spark ice Spear Desecrate Searing bond
Support/niche Frost wall freeze mine cold snap Lightning warp smoke mine molten shell
AY LMAO Shock Nova

Yeah I consider SRS a spell too. If I make a "summoner", then that's not SRS. SRS is SRS.
You forgot Lightning Tendrils btw.

oops sry ^^ edited
i wanted to put in the vaal stuff but other than vaal spark, vaal storm call and vaal molten shell i dont think the rest are really good, better off with vaal haste instead.

What gems/keystones/mechanics do you want to see changed in the act 4 patch?
Would like to see some buffs to non-crit builds as well as armor based characters, maybe add an additional node behind Resolute Technique which gives some kind of bonus to non-crit builds?
|
Non-crit builds hopefully get stronger, yeah. I wouldn't mind if they FINALLY buff Armour a bit and as such melee builds become more popular. Really, I hope melee builds will finally shine again.

I am also pretty hyped for 1 month league. Gonna play poison arrow ranger in softcore :D

like, trapper scaling the flat damage or?

What if RT set your crit multi to 0, so you can crit but it does the dmg of a normal hit. That way you'd still be able to benefit from the on crit effects of your attacks, like elemental ailments, CoC, or certain bonuses from items (this would screw with some Romiras builds though).
Or maybe make it "Cant be evaded, blocked or dodged." (It would only be -evaded for PvP), but I don't know how prevalent dodge and block is with monsters, so it might be negligible.
Personally I'd like to see some defensive bonuses added to 2Hander nodes, a buff to claws, a nerf to burnprolif, and maybe a buff to spell totem? It's downsides seem quite severe.

Nice idea with the 0 crit multi, although you would still have to itemize for crit, which means you still have to aim for the expensive crit items on the market instead of being able to use cheaper ones

sounds suspiciously like kongors except without having to use a shitty 2hander
|
how about a general buff to some of the 2h weapons like how bows in general was buffed in the previous patch?
|
Why why why. Why do good things keep happening for me towards the end of the leagues?? Last league I 6L'ed my CoD and found Crown of Eyes in the last week. This time I find Mjölner. Just dropped. Probably the most expensive item I ever found, although comparable with Crown of Eyes unnerfed.
On how it dropped: I found a tormented spirit and chased it through like 30 monsters. Those dropped it and Sledgehammer unique (and tons of rares).

It depends on how act 4 is set up. Does GGG squish the levels so that everything fits into the current level range or is there a rearranging like we saw when act 3 was added.
I prefer the latter option because it feeds into a map revision quite easily along with new item affixes. I think the squish is more likely though

I think the squish is more likely though What happened to GGG's thought of removing cruel when too much content is there? I'm sure I've read about that and that'd help scaling the levels without increasing monster zones. Plus I'd support it since getting to Merciless Act 4 will take a while.

It will happen eventually, but who knows when my only comment is that going from 0 resistance penalty direct to 60% would be brutal, so IF with act 4 we go from 3x3 acts to 2x4 acts, I feel like you'd see a 10% resistance per act penalty starting after a2n or something.
but from the faqs and stuff that I read, it sounded like the plan was to trim down some content that has really poor feedback and make the other acts a bit more streamlined and keep the 3 difficulty setting *for now*. Although since act 4 will presumably include some form of free passive points, I'd expect piety to go down to 1 free point with 1.4.
All this does a good job of explaining why 1.4 has taken so long and is still so far away while the current build is seeing so very little content love etc. Either method of completely rebalancing the entire game to fit act 4 takes an unbelievable amount of playtesting etc, and thats before you factor in many many new uniques, new skills, a new tree, etc. I half expect act 4 to be branded as PoE 2.0 since it allows the devs to fundamentally redesign a very large portion of the game as they see fit.
