I thought the question was pretty simple, but maybe i should have asked differently. Also thought some would remember me, since i played quite a lot with the TL guild "back in the day".
Which skills were buffed/changed a lot in the last 6 Months? Which of the new skills are good/worth building around? Which build would you start in the next league?
Basically i have done everything possible in the game until forsaken masters got released. Just wanted to know what changed and what's cool nowadays.
Both lightning tendrils and kinetic blast look decent, how is static strike?

Lawl, I laughed. I mean, you are right they're strong. My summoner beats any map except Atziri (which might be doable but I don't care). However, they're not easy to farm up, starting from the scratch. They're the most painful leveling experience I had. I'm sure you could avoid that by going something like Flameblast or Searing Bond on normal, though. Since starting like mid Cruel, Zombies are getting pretty strong if you happen to find Melee Splash. If not, your AoE won't be very fun because imo there are no truely good Spectres in Act 1 or Act 2. Regarding my idea of playing BM Flametotem, I'm starting to think going BM has no real advantages. If you go EB, which isn't a big point investment, then mana should not be a problem at all. Plus you should be able to run Purity (yes I'm worried about the survivability of the totems before lvl 19-20 and/or high quality, knowing minions are snacks without it) and maybe a herald. So I'm kinda torn whether to do it for the first time or not. Blood magic let's you do a couple more map mods, gives you some more gem slots by not running auras and probably saves you a couple skill points. But yeah, it's less tanky than EB with auras and AA.

Hey Blitzkrieg0 can you send me an invite to the NA guild as well? XvKissblade is my username.
Also I'm back with another newbie question. Are there any whites I should be holding onto? I just found a 5 link (all red) white colosseum plate but the item level is only 49. Not sure if I should do anything with it or just vend it.

They feel weak as shit though, except SRS which is ok. you realise that is the only build that has tested and true since the beginning of public PoE every other build has come and gone in the meta thanks to balance changes but summoner has always remained cheap and viable for MF/endgame. funny enough i was one of the few that actually tried out SRS way back last year before its buff and every streamer humper start hyping it up. it was already very strong.
Yea, but the problem is that they're still quite a bit weaker than most builds and a huge pain in the ass to level. I've got a lvl 85(6?) summoner on Torment. Gear is relatively cheap, but the clear is worse than my lvl 70ish flicker striker. Every time I play I use Residence evangelists (I just clear a map with another char), and they die within an hour of mapping. Doesn't matter if I have ridiculously tanky zombies if I have no dps.
I think SRS might get nerfed soon though-- the thing where if you have Hatred on them and it triggers perma EE for free damage is pretty OP, and I feel like it may not have been intended. I've done a couple chars with it, not too bad.

Btw ticklish (or anyone really), my wife is having a lot of fun with the game as a summoner on her end. However, she only has Wrath as her AoE. Would that work for EE instead of Hatred? Or is there a specific reason why Hatred is used over it?

Dunno if you are still reading/writing here, but GLGL in the racing invitational finals Zoroxo!
Starting in 10 minutes.
(Can't help with the SRS question)
EDIT: Hope Throzz dies, kinda shitty he doesn't stream and owns the others so hard. Though I don't blame him for not streaming haha. EDIT2: Maybe it'll get close though, some are closing the gap a little.

Hatred obviously much better there.

Your 5L low item level is worthless on standard as well. Feel free to vendor it for a wisdom scroll fragment. You could consider using it if you want a really weak five link or try to sell it for a chaos or two, but finding a buyer isn't really worth the trouble imo

Hatred adds damage based on a percentage of your physical damage. If you have a physical build this will always be higher than the flat damage that Wrath or Anger adds.

Ya, adding on its the same reason people use undying evangelists (well, that and proximity shield i guess)-- their spell is phys, so it scales with hatred (as well as unholy might if you use vis mortis). if it weren't for that, i think flame sentinels or the inferno/chaos bombers might be a better option
EDIT: with regards to wrath proccing EE, it should. i'm not sure if it gives perma EE the way hatred on SRS does though if that's what you're referring to. I guess that wrath might be better than hatred at some levels or some specific point where flat damage might be better than % damage. hard to say though.

Elemental Equilibrium only works on attacks that are made by the character (this is why the spirits don't overwrite the debuff). The point of using hatred is that you cast a lightning spell. Raging spirits do half fire half physical and you use say ball lightning to proc EE. Then all the fire and cold damage is amplified by EE. You'd also link your ball lightning to curse on hit so that you can get that as well.
Technically you could do it with Wrath and use a cold spell to proc EE, but there isn't a great cold spell to proc with like ball lightning or arc.

SRS has some of the sickest clear speed in the game, at least it used to.

quality freeze pulse cast speed is faster than either and cover instanteously a sizable area with gmp
but nobody uses wrath anymore anyway

Regarding that nerf, is the build that popular rn? I'm hoping to play it when the 1month comes around but if it gets nerfed by then, pretty sad times :/

nah they will only release the balance patch when act4 comes out which is right after the 1 month league. so srs is good for the 1 month

I'm pretty rusty on templar, but honestly didn't expect to win either way. Bit of a shame that throzz doesn't stream, but he did upload some record runs at times. ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2em7W6uBoGu4aQ9UJX_mSQ/videos) Doesn't seem like he does anything exceptional that I could pick up myself so, guess it mostly just comes down to luck and obviously experience.
The rewards were decent, but for me it was mostly just about the competition.

Flameblast beats it by a decent margin, even after the nerf tbh. Also arc with curse on hit is imo way better than ball lightning. You may not hit as many, but you hit them instantly and have no issues at all with corruption blood. My old srs setup http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1203222 could do any map at very decent speed that didn't have blood magic and noregen. Only reason I died was that I pressed wrong potion while being slightly desynced in atziri split phase :D

What is the reasoning behind taking inner force and alchemist? It's hard for me to gauge how powerful these nodes are. How do you feel about Cloak of Defiance vs. Belly? It should be atleast equally good if you get a few mana nodes and some good ES gear right? Followup: If one was to go CoD, would Pledge of Hands be viable? A potential 7link with 100% increased mana for your MoM sounds interesting.
Edit: Oh, and what about minion instability? Sounds like a neat free dmg boost to me.
