imho logging out should have a delay of about 2-3 seconds. that way, a viable hc build (which necessarily must have good defenses) will not die from a disconnect during an ordinary fight, say with 3 white mobs, but at the same time, the game would not have to be balanced around abilities that instakill. if you happen to disconnect during an uber run or something like that... well, tough luck.
about strange hardware issues on different systems: my pc is loading almost every map in the game quicker than my buddy's old machine - but for some strange reasons, my pc takes about 1, sometimes even 2 full minutes to load the crossroads and the ebony barracks. once, i was dead upon finally entering the crossroads. thank god for my appartment and the ears of my neighbors that this was just on sc... oh, and my pc regularly crashes when herald of thunder's autoattack flashes are triggered in the upper submerged passage.

I am honestly more hyped for awakening than I have been for any game in.. as long as I can remember.
Yeah, I was going to take a break after I got 4/4 1MHC but then the awaking announcement sort of hyped me so I tried some 1msc. But I really detest it :S, so I guess I'll just wait for the closed beta. Or play more on the hc character, I really can't be bothered to do 1msc D:
i definitely won't bother to play before it comes out but i am constantly looking for more spoilers to read about
Ugh. If GGG decides to do "low-key events" awarding beta keys to winners I'll be pretty peeved. That seems like it's just asking for keyselling and an excuse not to actually run another few 1-weeks/1-month.
I hope they just do "random assignment", maybe they could build a population of people based on how much they play/ skill level (like 20% new players, 30% casual, 50% veteran with some split between HC/standard)
faq is already out, the keys are given out randomly with no preference. they may also do events to award keys on top of it.
i think towards the end almost everyone that have been playing recently would have been invited.
also ideally they should have divide the invite based on pc specs/connection/gateway
"no preference" ? really.. popular streamers and alpha testers have day one access basically, expected
Honestly, with streamers and alpha testers getting in for sure there's probably still place for a lot of players. Still funny they say "all equal, all random" and then go say "alpha testers get a key 100% and streamers can too" just a few sentences later.
There are too many players already, I don't think I will get a key.
of course alpha players get in keep in mind streamers is like MAYBE 25 plus popular non-poe streamers that ask (1m views is rather a lot, though, so i'd be surprised if there were more than 5). I'm sure that isn't an issue.
basically, lots of space for random invites.
Chris also said that the people maintaining the big third party skill tree tools would get in, to allow them to update and as a nod of appreciation.

This is good to hear, I'm probably more hyped about passive tree access than having a beta invite
I'll get you guys first hand info when beta starts, I sacrifced two goats, one sheep and fourteen chickens to RNGesus allready. I'm like in allready. That's what Chris told me last night in my sleep!
Ok one small detail there
Guilds are separate, so if you want one in the Beta, you need to create it again. Ah hm someone snipe the name plox.

Looks like we're getting new weapon bases that aren't going to be uniques for a while.
We might have crit builds that aren't Dagger/Bow/Wand, which is actually a pretty neat solution to what people have looked at as a "crit problem" and is actually just a "those weapon types are broken compared to the others" problem.
I don't understand why on Earth GGG keeps adding "x% chance to cause bleeding" to the game though, a %-based proc works counter to the bleed mechanics.
well we still don't know what sort of rebalancing other bases are undergoing (since the unique vile staff leaked isn't the same base as current vile staves right). It's funny because the blade staff is worse than old staves for attack builds (lower base crit), so it's only good for crit caster builds. But you need such a specific combination of mods on it to compete with most unique caster staves that it's vanishingly unlikely for it to end up as a dominant base.
The implicits on weapons that already have implicits are all trash except the 2h melee weapons. And technically the 1% ele pen until you consider how small 1% pen is and how hard it is to roll sceptres again. The free implicit on a 1h axe is cute but not even close to good. The ias implicit on that 1h mace is just a bad version of a slightly faster base, not exactly nuts.
Basically the only actual good shit is for 2h melee but they nerfed staves (the best 2h melee in the past) and having 1 good base for each 2h melee weapon doesn't fix the concept, especially since GGG seemed to indicate that these bases would be rarer than others. While I can't exactly complain too much since having more of them be strict upgrade over the old bases causes it's own issues, basically where i'm going is that introducing new bases to the game as an upgrade is dumb and as a sidegrade is pointless and anti-hype Better to just add higher-tier versions of existing bases imo if you want to push certain styles.
Oh and the claw. Super nice implicit. LOL CLAWS hahaha sorry but claws ahahahaha yeah still a joke.
Claws implicit is pretty good, that should be enough to not worry about mana at all. Especially because the highest tier one is probably +8 on life/mana on hit.
However, Dagger-Axe 2h Axe is pretty OP. It just makes any other 2h Axe inferior, similar to Harbringer Bow... Though getting high crit might require a lot of point investment, so maybe it will just be good for Spectral Throw.
But what do I know; Perhaps crit gets nerfed a lot. Still that 2h Axe type will definitely be superior in crit builds.
Heres the thing tho there's only disembowelling for half-decent crit nodes bows have no less than 2 OP crit clusters plus are near shadow global crit circle, ranger op crit cluster etc.
So while the dagger axe implicit is busted, it's not even close to the same as harbinger.
