Currency, low maps, high maps, chaos/regal recipe jewelry, good stuff (2 normal tabs after), unid's junk (2 normal tabs after) is what I use. The last two tabs basically allow you to create "folders" using the normal tabs, and I just buy normal tabs to add to those sections.

I keep them in one of my "good stuff" tab-- usually the valuable gems go in one corner, leveled gems go in another, high q gems and low q gems in the other two Far as valuable gems, probably multistrike, spell echo, empower, enhance, the other one, portal. A few other supports are good, but I can't recall off the top of my head. If you get a lot of gems just dump then in guild stash l0l

I have been trying to save everything because I thought it would make it easier.

The gate is almost always amulet/belt/ring and if you're farming it is very easy to get the other pieces typically. If you have space you should keep the partial full set around, but you also save a lot of space by not clogging your stash up with useless rares while you wait for drop to finish the chaos recipe. You also have to consider if you're going to keep a unid and id variant around. There are a ton of items in this game that you can pick up, but you have to value time in some fashion. I can sell gems in trade chat for alchs, but I'm probably not going to because the time investment isn't worthwhile. I know I can make more money if I spend my time running maps instead of selling almost worthless items. Where you draw that line is a personal decision though.

Pretty much this-- I have a bunch of tabs of unid stuff (in the last section I specified), and I just use that in the chaos recipe.

So the trade off is you get more orbs for unid stuff, but because it's unid you might miss something that would be worth potentially way more than the chaos or regal orbs you get? Is there a good way of splitting that up or do you just randomly decide to id something. I just think about it mathematically. What is the expected value of four random pieces of jewelry (focus on jewelry because this is where almost all of the profit is)? If it is more than one chaos orb then it is better to ID them all. At the beginning of the league I am never going to do the unid recipe because there is almost no way that is more profitable than IDing. Further along I might keep around my lower ilvl stuff to unid chaos, but ilvl 72/3 or so jewelry has better expected value than one chaos orb so I'm going to ID all that stuff still.

does it reserve the normal %, or the increased percentage based on the blood magic gem? like, if I reserved haste, would it reserve 60% of my life or would it try to reserve 120% ?

It reserves the amount times the multiplier like any other support gem. You can still use reduced mana to decrease the cost though. If you manage to reserve 100% of your life then you will kill yourself as well. That is why the multiplier got changed, 2.5x * 40% was dead character.

Though to be fair the number of people who would somehow use lvl 1 BM gems * 2 auras is pretty low... you usually need some borderline freak accidents to hit 100% reserved precisely with all the different multipliers.

www.pathofexile.com Tl;dr version: It seems like things are going a lot slower than they hoped. (also no mention of the larger passive tree rework they had mentioned...think that may have fallen off their radar for the moment)
