Part of me wishes it was a bit more grindy in this respect, so I would be required to do more of the optional stuff to keep up to the story levels. The game is fucking awesome and I really enjoy most of the missions, the characters and lines that they spout are really good quality and as a result I feel like I'm missing out on lots of super cool shit elsewhere in the world. Yeh i did every quest i could find, by the time i got to the last 'dungeon' i was 4 levels above it..

Was the same in Borderlands 1 as well iirc. If not even worse there... At least i remember even more annoying optional mission levels.
Don't know why they did it like this.

Finished my first playthrough yesterday. I haven't found a single orange item in that process and now I just arrived in sanctuary in my 2nd playthrough and already found 5 now ...
Sadly didn't have a use for all of them, apart from an assault rifle that shoots rockets which drop a grenade when they explode.
Also found a bouncy rubber grenade that explodes into 9 smaller grenades, which also explode into smaller grenades again, awesome damage... but the fuse timer was like 4 seconds and the grenade would always bounce around for way too long and I killed myself with that on accident more than once. You can't throw it, it just drops out of your hand it starts bouncing... and more than not would bounce off a wall and bounce into your direction again -.-
Found the Bee shield, which helps a lot (basically bosts your DPS by a lot as long as you have full shields).
Other two were a sniper rifle and a rocket launcher which were too low on the damage side, that I didn't even test them for novelty reasons.

What? Strange, i'm lvl 25 (story 21) and have found 3 orange items. Mainly along mission bosses. Playing solo too, so in groups that would be likely more drops.
Out of those 2 were really good. Using an orange shotgun atm with like 90% accuracy and 170*7 dmg... really good at the moment.
But yeah, i can imagine that many orange items suck... they're really expensive but not worth as much. The first orange item i used went to the stash after maybe 1 level usage. The one i didn't use had such bad projectiles that i couldn't hit with it...
Grenades are really good in this game, i use a singularity one which bounces and then grabs nearby enemy into it. Really strong.
edit: Also, not testing weapons can be bad. I have a weapon (dunno if orange or purple) which seemed to suck but it needs no munitions (while only its name implied that, not the stats sheet)... it can shoot all the time. Also the legendary shotgun i'm just using is much better than a blue shotgun which has better stats. Don't know why.

Anyone know how to get into the chest in the Crimson Raiders headquarters in Sanctuary? It's behind a gate where Patricia Tanis is normally found.

You'll get a mission for that at one point. I'm note really sure if it was a side mission or story mission though.

Did anyone else find themselves thinking that the Psycho's voicework sounds exactly like Lewis Black? Just me? haha

I have gotten two oranges so far (level 48 at the moment). One was a rocket launcher that exploded like bouncy grenades when reloading... which got me killed a ton when I tried to use it. The other is an SMG with slag damage.

My partner and I got our first orange yesterday (both lvl 20). It was a pretty decent shotgun but we decided to sell it for 8k and gamble :p

If anyone wants a challenge , try soloing Dukina's mom . Fuck that shit.

I tried her a few times using the rocks in the arena for cover, but her mortar shot would just obliterate me in two hits trying to do that. That encounter requires you to almost make no mistakes if you do it without the above trick.

can anyone recommend me some good borderlands 2 streams?
also to the players who already have it. how much stuff is there to do besides the main quest, etc.? how lively do the towns feel? are there any other things to do when playing with your buddys besides going through the quests together? are there some community aspects to the game?
I watched some reviews of the game, but I´m not entirely sure about these things. A little help would be appreciated

Idk i had a very good Corrosion Weapon in both my runs and got her down to 1/4 when she was done with the Bandits still running around.

A hint for Dukina's mom: When she does the sucking, throw a grenade, it does bonus damage (or at least it will always hit).
Dodongo reference.

I'm killing everything atm. Mia is so good at solo when you have good elemental weapons. I run 4 SMG, one for each elemental effect, with a class mod that boost the talent that give +% elmemental proc, it's a massacre. The slag SMG proc corrisif and electric damage in addition to the slag effect, that thing kills EVERYTHING.
