Also it looks like I'm not soloing hyperius as zero. If i take any damage at all he just does his double aoe nuke thing and i just die.

So what kinda weapons are you guys playing Mechromancer with anarchy using anyway?

Considering it's Borderlands, it's probably intentional so you'll have a reason to grind the DLC for hours.

can i jump right into the dlc arc on pt2 with lvl 45/crappy equip, or is it meant for lvl 50/after finishing the main game?

The only advantage to waiting is that the loot dropped will be scaled to your current level. I haven't played enough of the DLC to know if it's worth it to wait, but I suspect that might be the case.

Slagga, Conference Call, Badaboom, primarily.

So i got my first orange gun from farming the bunker. It's a 4k dmg smg with fire dmg, only good thing is the 100% accuracy. Please post some of your best gear so I can compare a little, I'll post mine next time I play.

So... noob question since I stopped playing this for a couple of weeks and am now coming back.
This playthrough 2.5 thing... We're about halfway through playthrough 2 at around lv. 45, having done all the side quests on the way. Obviously, there's some quest guns (eg. law) which I would quite like a lv 50 version of, but have already done the quest for at something like 40. Is that opportunity gone forever, or is there some equivalent of playthrough 3?

Once you finish the game all the side quests scale up to lvl 50 that you haven't already accepted/completed. May not be 100% correct, I haven't checked since beating the warrior last night.

If you started a quest before activating pt 2.5 then the chance is gone.
Law, Order, Fibber, Moxxi's corrode smg, maybe buffalo as a toy, maybe trespasser/heartbreaker/teapot/lady fist/triquetra, and a couple of the DLC quest rewards are all things that might be strongly considered for waiting on.
Actually, the smg from the DLC with the pitchfork-like shot spread and the sniper with the elemental cloud effect are pretty huge musts to wait on if you have any interest in those weapon types at all.
The red text on a decent number of quest rewards makes them legendaries disguised in blue. Or all of them really, a decent few legendaries have terrible effects from their red text similar to the unimpressive quest items. If you want to play the loot game at 50 there are a lot of quests to skip in playthrough 2.

and 2.5 starts when you are at lv50 right?
|
It takes a new game to start it, activate the world in everything scaled to 50 mode if you will. I think it also requires defeating the warrior...or it might only require having defeated the warrior, I've never tested the variables independently. Just see if the quests say level 50 or not and if they do not then esc out to leave dialogue without starting the quest and restart the game or go finish the main quest line if you had already started a fresh game once 50.

well nearly lvl 50 and looking forward to all the loot : ) however, as i see it, you can either decide to 1) kill the warrior, get the quest, then start farming the sidequests on pt 2.5 or 2) farm the warrior over and over again with the save and quit trick right?
|
You can complete the warrior quest. Afterwards you start farming him!

No, it starts when you finish the story missions (talon of god is the last one), it's not about level. If you are less than 50, say lvl 45 when you enter playthrough 2.5, the quests scale to your level, so they would be 45, and then if you leveled up they would be 46, so if you level up to 50 after entering 2.5 the quests level with you up to 50. In the first borderlands it would activate once you entered the vault, but you didn't have to kill the boss, so I'm not sure if you actually need to kill the warrior. If I had to guess on exact time I think you do have to beat the warrior now and turn in the quest though.

The Orange Hyperion SMG "Bitch" is very good with an anarchy mechromancer , because this gun gets such insane accuracy bonus while doing decent damage which offsets the anarchy penaltys

so save all good quests until you kill the warrior basically. shouldn't be to bad
