Anyways, go 'Yotes! Doaner Hwaightiiing!
You can get game center for $125 for the whole season and watch whoever you want. I think it blacks out your local game though if it is on television. That is probably easy to work around with a proxy though.
Marchand is gonna get 5 easy for that dumb shit. It is a clone of Tucker on Peca from the playoffs in the 90s.
Gill is also gonna get a call from Shanny for a stupid ass knee to knee on Peverly, and this is already old news, but Montreal fans are total shitheads and booed Chara after he got hit in the face with a puck

They lost 4 straight before winning this one in overtime though. -_-

I hope the GM buys Sutter or Webber (or both if we got room) in the off season. I don't care what we do with our pick. There's no winning culture there, I think it's going to take a lot more than a defenceman or two. There's a ton of talent there though.
Agreed and Khabibulin is getting old. It's going to be awfully hard for them to keep all their youngsters as well.

Marchand is suposedly not getting anything for that submarine... wtf?

Bruins players are only suspended once apparently, and getting that first supension is usually the toughest.

Yeah saw that last night late, pretty damn gangster. Dude's a diver and stuff, and a big baby, but man does he have some skill.

Jesus christ -- Hal Gill and a conditional 5th to Nashville for Blake Geoffrion, prospect and a 2nd...
Is it just me or did they get fleeced? Pens got him for a 2nd or a 3rd in their cup year iirc and he's definitely not better than he was then now
|
Who got fleeced? Nashville? They probably could have got Gill for a lot less then that but this is Nashville's only chance for a while with Suter leaving at the end of the season. Hal Gill is an odd choice though.. Or they might trade Suter now for a top 3 forward for the playoffs.
|
That is a goddamn fleecing. I don't even really understand why they went D, unless they're bangedu p and I missed something? That's already a solid team defensively, with an even better goalie. They need more dynamic forwards.
I also don't think that Suter is 100% gone. Nashville will definitely keep him through the season and roll the dice after. Maybe he wants a better hockey market, but I think that is a solid franchise down there. They're in the hunt every year.
Geoffrion was having a rough go in Nashville though. Poor kid's gonna get eaten alive in MTL. No pressure!!
|
haha, he wont get eaten alive in MTL... his Grandpa was the legendary Bernie Geoffrion he will be treated like a king. This is exactly what Montreal needs to start doing!
|
Yeah that is exactly why: dude can't hold a candle to grandpa boom boom, and that's who he will be compared to, which isn't good because Nashville gave up on him after what, two seasons??
|
Well, there is the fact that Gill is one of the best PK players in the league. He's a beast
Also, there are not many big defensive dman available right now and I'm pretty sure other teams were highly interested in him. PG had the big end of the stick and he was waiting for the biggest offer before moving him.
This might also be Nashville saying: alright we'll even things up for the Sergei Kostitsyn trade lol
Overall it's a good trade for both. Was expecting a 2nd rounder for Gill and got much more, but Nashville are contenders this year and Gill is a huge factor in playoffs.
|
I have a hard time believing Suter will resign with Nashville.
|
The only reason I could think of would be that he wants a hockey market or something to that effect.
They can afford to pay a big three of Rinne, Suter and Weber. They've got a team that should be in the playoffs each year without any changes. Ownership is stable.
I think Parise will be interesting, and is much more in the air. There was a story the other day by the devs beat writer with him praising DeBoer to the point of saying 'id run through a wall for him' or something. He sounds like he really likes it. However, the uncertainty with the goaltending could be an issue. But far more concerning is the ownership shitshow that is going on right now. Devs are hurting, and trying to find new owners. That would be of concern, i'd imagine.

Ah when you put it in that context. Still the way you phrased it was so vague because the Leafs have been struggling for the last few weeks now. :/
Looking forward to tonights game against Vancouver. Going to be a real tough one.

Ribeiro's goal was nice, too bad against the Flames. Still points in 7 straight games...maybe we'll make the playoffs? As for the Oilers, my comparison with the islanders is more due to bad management (IMO; it isn't hard to take Hall, RNH with the first overall pick..though Eberle was a good find) and continued struggles. Pittsburgh made the playoffs in Crosby's 2nd year, Chicago the same with Kane/Toews. I'm not saying Edmonton doesn't have talent up front, I just don't think they're built to succeed until they can get long term solutions on the blue line and in net. As a side note, how much will Hall/Ebs sign for? I'm guessing identical term/cost, something like 5M/yr for 3 yrs? They're friends off the ice, so something like that would make sense and keep both happy.

Jets vs Bruins was a great game last night. MTS centre, smallest arena in the league but damn is it loud. Pavlec played amazingly.
