I just shake my head at some of the things this guy says.
He shows videos of dudes brains being jarred by head hits and nostalgically says "We're never going to see that again".

That one (I think G7) where he flopped out at a puck that was rolling ahead of two skaters... jesus I really can't think of any other goalie who has the ability to play like a top 5 dude one night and then like Michael Leighton another. It's really inexplicable as to why he thinks this will stop ANYTHING. Unless they are just rolling the puck 5 hole, any decent player is going to do exactly what Malkin did and make him look stupid. I like how all the talking heads are saying that he will be play better more consistantly because he will get more time off from Schneider, but I don't really think that "fatigue" is the issue. First it was because he "was under a lot of pressure being the capitan", now it's fatigue. Is it possible that he's just not on some nights and doesn't have the ability to consistantly be a top 5 goalie in the NHL?

Shit that whole thing in the finals, with him whining that he's been pumping Timmy Thomas' tires and all that, blah blah blah—perfect example. He's a huge goalie but has the agility and skill of a runt. That is clearly not the issue. It's all upstairs

I have been a fan since 03-04, and seeing them going from a overachieving team, to a underachieving team have been confusing. How they made it to the western finals in 03-04, relying on a young Marleau and Cheechoo is pretty much a miracle. They really played like a team back then. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0000442004.html And then they turned into this monster, who dominated the regular season, but always slumped in the playoffs. Man, how many times our dreams have been crushed by Detroit and Anaheim. I've learned to just not expect anything in the post season anymore and yet it still crushes me every year. Gonna always be a loyal Sharks fan though.

Funny that Pittsburg gets to do 3striaght home openers for the western canada teams. Must suck sitting through that many intros

This is the first time I've been excited for an Oilers season in a looooong time. GOGOGOGO RNH is such an awesome player. Not flashy, but just really really smart. As I predicted in the last thread, he had a great game. Legitimately, he was on the right side of the puck all game long, didn't make a single mistake, and looked real comfortable all game long. Not only was he comfortable, but he won every puck battle I saw him in. He sealed the deal by tying up the game a foot from the paint beating the huge throw-back defender Engelland... who said this kid was too small to play in the NHL? Best part, he had a great game, and all the kid himself could talk about was his 2 for 15 on the dot... RNH is gonna be good. Other than that, the Oilers played real hard tonight, felt great to slip out a win. Did a great job penalty killing, blocking shots, getting pucks in deep, and overall I think we out worked the pens. ^_^ It was a good night to be an Oilers fan.

I was really looking forward to the start of the season, no NHL games during the summer is always upsetting me a little, as I got time to stay late at night and watch it . So far it was nice set of games, especially Ottawa ALMOST making a comeback against Toronto I liked 1st game by Edmonton, they got a lot of young and talented players, I think they might do some serious damage this year. Too bad Devils got no goals in their opener. I can never quite understand how can they struggle on offense having Kovalchuk and Parise in their lineup!

THATS how you protect that criss-cross. No need to take the fucking guys head off. Clean, beautiful hit.
