Great defense, a spectacular goaltender, and a captain that plays all situations well. 7 out of the 8 teams that have won 2 presidents trophy in under 3 years went on to win the cup in at least one of those years, but it looks like its not vancouver's time this season
Thing is, they're really not better, if not for Quick tonight, the game tonight is completely different >.>

Well, should we expect 4 games like the Rome hit or what? Of course not...
Depends how much the Canucks whine, that and diving seems about all they're accomplishing right now.
Seems all you can accomplish is repeating stupid media hype instead of actually watching the game.
You kidding me? Vancouver has a ton of talent, but are constantly side tracked by themselves. It's evidenced in Lapierre getting caught up with Doughty tonight and getting called, and Kesler and Burrows both diving rather than just playing hard (they're actually good players when they play well). Look at Brown, took a hip check and got back up and kept playing..and now he has the first goal.
Examples of Kesler and Burrows diving? Lapierre got a penalty because Doughty came over and slashed him. Wow, what a whining team.
Do you really want to go down that road? The refs have them regarded as divers on their list man for a reason. Hence they don't get as many calls going their way.
I thought Doughty retailated afterwards.
He should have been gone too. No denying that. Those two were really going at it even before the actual faceoff and it didn't let up until after the play was called.
Yes, I do, because it's just bullshit. Other teams dive just as much. People are just sheep and repeat what they hear others say about Vancouver or Crosby. Kesler gets crosschecked three times after the play and falls down. Wow, what a dive.
I like how coming into this series people were bragging about how the Canucks had such a nice/deep 4th line and now they got pretty much no ice time...

No they don't. This isn't soccer. There will always be those who embelish a play when they feel the tug, but when you overdo like Kesler and Burrows. I cannot feel sorry for them at all. There's a really shortlist of players who dive that the refs have an eye on. Once you make the list its next to impossible to get off it.
Stop focusing on one play and look at the bigger picture. If someone wants to put heat on that one situation then let them and don't let it get to you lmao.
I originally though that the winner of Philly/Pitt would be second round fodder due to the agressiveness of the games but if Philly sweeps and gets a week off they, in my opinion anyways, will probably win the cup.

I think neither team has a shot at all lmao with the goaltending they're getting. It's like we're back in the late 70s early 80s all over again. Flyer's could probably make it to the conference finals but I really don't see them winning the Cup unless Bryzgalov really shuts it down.

welcome to the NHL playoffs... almost every year teams lower in the standings ride hot goalies past gutless teams that finished higher in the standings.
hot goaltenders steal playoff games. the big question is... when will Luongo do this for Vancouver ?
every truly great goaltender from Billy Smith to Patrick Roy to Bernie Parent to Martin Brodeur to Tim Thomas has done this for his team.
Asham better be getting way more than 3 if Hagelin's was for 3, and Neal better be getting 2 or 3 three at least because he did some fucking dumb ass shit as well.
words cannot describe how happy I am of the outcome in the Canucks and Penguins series
As a Crosby fanboy I'd love to point the blame at Fleury for this 0-3 hole... but I think Bryzgalov has been just as shaky/bad so I dunno... Flyers just straight up better this series.
Also I'm loving my LA over Vancouver prediction right now. SUP.

Just a freakin beauty of a hit. The saddest part was the commentators, saying it was late and an elbow, where it was clearly neither. CBC, or rather Houghson and Simpson, have been disappointingly, though not unsurprisingly biased this series.

Bryz hasn't been great through each game, but he has had a lot of big saves to cover up defensive gaffes as well
The defense has been absolutely atrocious. Letang looks like a child at times. Martin has been pretty soft all season, but it is what it is. There's also been at least two goals where I've seen Crosby just standing there watching instead of checking his man, who, was the goal scorer. MAF has been bad, but no one else has been performing well, either.
I don't blame Lovejoy for looking like shit for 2 games when he came back, as he was just coming off of surgery and is a 6/7 D-Man anyway. Letang, Martin, Orpik, MAF all have to be better if they are going to compete. Malkin has to show up, Neal has to get his head out of his ass. It's a complete mess at this point. Kind of makes you wonder what the hell is going on in their room to let it get this bad. Is it on the coaching staff or is this on the players?
Bryz has been pretty awful as well, which is the enraging thing. If they could play anything remotely close to NHL level defense, they may have won a game or two.
