They won't get swept by any team other then the Bulls/Miami at this rate.

Charles John "Chuck" Klosterman (born June 5, 1972) is an American author and essayist who has written for The New York Times Magazine, The Believer, and The Washington Post, and has written books focusing on American popular culture. He's obviously not a sports writer, so why exactly is Ace trashing his sports knowledge? Come to think about it, I want this settled once and for all. Ace, what exactly is your basketball background since you regularly trash everything? I mean you've had warnings about doing it to the forum, and in less than 6 hours you've trashed 3 more journalists. Since your arguments boil down to, I know more than these guys, shouldn't you just establish why at some point? Why do you care so much about seen as a sports authority on an anonymous online account? So far as what I can tell, you're exactly like Bill SImmons credential-wise, maybe you've played some recreational basketball and watch a lot of basketball, but then you claim the extent of that experience gives you some intellectual authority over basketball, only he usually doesn't discount people as much (except coaches). As opposed to Thorpe, whose job is to train basketball players up through the NBA level. Why does your opinion belong in that category as opposed to random fan, to which I readily admit that I apply.

And actually yes, I do know more than most sports journalists since I've been asked to write stories and start a blog educating people at least 30 times in the last 3 years. I've also been approached by people to help them bet on games, which is booming by the way since if you've been following my posts for the past few years you'd know I'm very rarely wrong. My knowledge of how teams, players, markets and public perception work have been pretty spot on. So have my predictions. I'm not trying to be seen as some "sports authority" as I don't have the desire or the time. I'm more interested in just railing against incorrect assumptions and show people a way of thinking and looking at the big picture intead of being ignorant. Besides, there's not enough money in it. Anything else you want to know? So far as what I can tell, you're exactly like Bill SImmons credential-wise, maybe you've played some recreational basketball and watch a lot of basketball, but then you claim the extent of that experience gives you some intellectual authority over basketball, only he usually doesn't discount people as much (except coaches). Well here's the question: How many times have I been wrong? Instead of being upset with the way I do things can you conclusively say over the 4 years I've been posting in NBA threads that I've been flat out off base? You can't.

.. ESPN probably went the furthest with "Chink in the Armor" after Lin had nine turnovers Kinda harsh, but the evil person inside me couldn't help giggling at first glance.. (ESPN obviously had to remove the headline due to racial slur after some time)

I knew he was a joke before that but that was just like a whole new level of stupidity.

Klosterman is annoying to listen to, his entire on-air persona is being condescending. This is disappointing because I found the book of his I read pretty interesting. However, I feel like every opinion he takes is one that is intentionally subtle (to an annoying degree) and he believes said position is unimpeachably right. Simmons is fine, he writes like a fan, but still thinks like old media. Its ridiculous how everyone gives the same answer as to why Jeremy Lin fell through the cracks: "Evaluating talent is hard." We all know the real reason: The Spurs didn't need a Point Guard.

Actually I mostly don't listen to anybody in the thread. I'm a diehard Dubs homer so this thread mostly serves for me to vent my frustration at my team's futility. I don't follow most of the NBA outside of the Dubs though, so I try to acquire what little knowledge I have of other teams through this thread (lol).
