I'd be weary about who I am saying is on the block from the Celtics, not because im a rabid Rondo fan, but rather because the Celtics seem to surprise everyone when it comes to brokering deals. Aside from Troy Murphy, who in the past few years did you honestly expect to see in(or out) a Celtic uniform? Jeff Green? Arroyo? Robinson? Perkins? Tony Allen? (i know the last one went to free agency, but you felt he was going to be retained for his wing defense.) All Im saying is you hear about Rondo being on the block from the Celtics, and next thing you know Pierce is getting traded, those are the moves you expect from the Celtics, or at least, I do following them for the past few years. What other rumours have you seen Ace? I've only seen Rondo for Paul, brook lopez for D12, and Broy -> amnesty clause -> Chicago. What about free agency, where do you think Nene will end up? Think Dallas will move for him? Although this off season doesn't quite have the bang that last offseason did, theres still a few decent players as FA, such as Tyson Chandler, David West, Nene, for nice big men, with a few dirty workers like Big Baby, Carl Landry, Reggie Evans, Fesenko, Pryzbilla and Hayes, as well as a bunch of wing/sgs up for FA, Crawford, J-Rich, Battier, Redd, Shannon Brown, Prince, Anthony Parker, and T-Mac. Im reluctant to put Smith or Martin down as they are currently in China, and I am unsure of their status for 2011. Where are you guys hoping a few of these players end up? I for one am hoping that the Bulls can get an elite wing defender, Battier or Prince, and the heat can get a decent dirty worker, Hayes or Evans preferably as they can both can snatch board amongst the top in the league (Evans per possession is the best in the league last I saw). I am seriously hoping that Boston can grab one of the three elite big men, a starting lineup for Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Nene with Green as the 6th man would be deadly imo, and I don't feel Big Baby is worth as much as he is viewed to be worth, being the guy with the highest percentage of his shots blocked and all. Bostons huge cap space after their moves late last season should be able to allow them to make a move towards either one of these big men, or Paul/Howard. I'd also like to see T-Mac go somewhere like Dallas, where the coaching staff will not be scared to use him if they see fit, as he proved last year he can still contribute in many aspects of the game (wtf triple doubles..) On a side note, with the Cavs that Tristen and Kyrie, I can see them way overpaying for a free agent should the option arise, especially the David West type, I don't know why, it just feels like he would overpay for that type of player.

Howard and Deron would make Carmelo/Amare/Chris Paul only the 3rd most powerful team in the east. Chris Paul would be a better fit (Deron has bad fast break stats and Paul's a better 3 point shooter), but I don't see them ending up together. Howard to the Lakers would benefit the Lakers more than Howard. They might have a good year or two, then everyone else is too old or retires. I really don't see the synergy either. You think Kobe's going to channel his inner point guard and just feed the post until they stop guarding him? Then on defense they change from a team with strong interior depth and mediocre perimeter presence ... to a team with strong interior presence and mediocre perimeter presence.

Chris_Broussard Chris Broussard Boston offered Rondo & Jeff Green to OKC for Westbrook & KPerkins after last season's playoffs. OKC was not interested, sources say. ZachLowe_SI Zach Lowe Would love to have heard Sam Presti's response when presented with Rondo/Green for Westbrook/Perkins. RicBucher Ric Bucher From what I've heard: Celtics might want to deal Rondo for CP3, but Hornets are not doing that deal. Have better offers if it comes to that. RicBucher Ric Bucher And for inquiring minds: If Clips are offering EGordon/DeAndre Jordan and another piece (Bledsoe/Aminu/Minn's 1st), that's a better deal. RicBucher Ric Bucher But I'm still coming to grips with a player of CP3 reportedly having Clippers on his wish list. Talk about burying the lede. #PowerofBlake

Anyways, I just read a Derrick Rose interview on ESPN and he came off incredibly likable. I'm not a huge fan of his game but he certainly seems grounded and mature. He's got a lot of room to grow but you can't doubt his natural abilities or his capacity.

Oh, the tragic irony... The Howard deal is pretty good for the Magic, if there's doubt about him re-signing (and there should be.) Anyone hear about the stupid players stuck in China for the time being? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski_china_nba_players_112811 They signed a contract that didn't have an escape clause and now they want to get out of it. What the hell were their agents thinking? “They can play, get paid [in China] and return to the NBA in March,” one Chinese team official said. “Or they can not get paid, and return to the NBA in March.”

Dwight Howard is also becoming vastly overrated but he's worth max money due to scarcity of the position. Honestly Chris Paul is the real all-time great coming into FA that teams should be dying to get.

And LoL at the offer of Rondo/Green for Westbrook/Perkins by Boston...I guess he was hoping Presti was on some meds.

is it their abilities, talents, attitudes, playstyle, etc. personally i've always favored players with great handles, great slashers it makes watching games really entertaining, seeing them weave between players while making their way to the basket. ive really liked rose ever since i first saw him play for memphis in college, and im sure he's going to develop within the next couple seasons to a better rounded player. not sure sure about his last season mvp, although it is credible to a degree. dwade crossovers are sick as hell too
