And Jerry Rice has backed him up! They were both WRs on that Oakland team. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/21/tim-brown-suggests-sabotage-by-bill-callahan-in-super-bowl-xxxvi/ http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/22/jerry-rice-agrees-with-tim-brown-bill-callahan-sabotaged-us/ Says the coach inexplicably changed the game plan at the last minute to something they were unprepared for, that they had planned a heavy rushing attack and then he changed it to wanting to throw 60 times, and their center Barret Robbins left the team cause that change was overwhelming and doomed. Though it's weird cause I definitely remember that Raiders team was a heavy passing team the whole time, so I don't know why that would be such a weird game plan, though the Bucs did have a sick pass defense (this is the team that popularized the Tampa 2), and Gruden probably had a good read on their normal stuff from coaching the Raiders.

Reed got suspended earlier in the year for complete BS: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8653359/ed-reed-baltimore-ravens-suspended-one-game-illegal-hit And are you serious? Pollard was set to hit low and then Ridley dropped his head causing the helmet to helmet contact. Watch the play again, and please explain to me how Pollard could possibly be considered at fault for that concussion.

I watched it again, and still think he is leading with his helmet which I thought the NFL was trying to crack down on. Maybe it was just (un)lucky that the point of impact was also the other player's helmet.

That's all on Ridley. Plus, that is legal vs a ball carrier like that. You'd have a flag every other play if it weren't. There's no way of avoiding it in a situation like that. And I was just coming to post that gif. So glorious

In other news, Junior Seau's family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the NFL. In funny news: This is awesome: The NFL announced Alfred Morris, Donald Driver and Aaron Rodgers will join kids to run a lemonade stand at the Super Bowl.

Think of a league (HYPOTHETICALLY) where head-penalties are so strict, that some players might his their own well being to induce an incident and a favorable penalty on the opponent. Similar to forcing a foul in basketball by blatantly charging (and flopping like a fish after, maybe). Except, you know, you could ruin two people's lives.

There's actually some people proposing a ban on all crack blocks. Many defenders are for it with the argument that they need to equalize somewhat all the safety related regulations that are helping offenses.
