Thoughs, mr. Nemy?? I am iffy about him because of his past, but he is a good deep ball man, which is what the team really needs along side of Crabtree and Morgan. I can just imagine him breaking Smith's battered little soul.

Even though Dallas isnt getting hit as hard. I think this is pure bullshit by the NFL. I am going to love hearing the NFL attempt at spinning this story to try and look good. I expect it to go something like this: "Yeah we are punishing a team for breaking no rules but they gained an advantage and we cant allow that. On a related note, all trick plays are also now banned. They also represent attempting to gain an advantage while not explicitly breaking any rules".

It's funny. I liked Goodell when he came in because he was suspending the shitbags of the league, but since then he's turned into a complete tool

I don't get why other teams weren't punished though. Julius Peppers's cap hit for the uncapped year was !!!$35 million!!! (almost double the biggest cap hits in capped years) and drops back down to around $10 million in the capped years. If that isn't seriously gaming the system then I don't know what is.

Moss is a 49er, per schefter. This could be either really awesome or a total dud. Moss can be a malcontent and his skills seemed diminished in his final year. However, Tiny Hands is really good at heaving it up the gut deep to Davis already. Presumably, he can do the same for Moss. At worst, it takes off the secondary help on Davis. And Moss-Crabtree-Morgan (if resigned)-Davis-Gore kind of gives me a chubby. At the very least, they seem poised to be a little less dependent on the D shutting down the opposition for liek 15 points a game

I think he is starting to realize (or maybe has realized) that he no longer is the same Randy Moss of old and teams will no longer put up with the baggage since what he brings to the field can be mostly replaced. That said, I would never sign him to anything longer than a 1 year deal just in case.

If he works out, great. If he's the same old Moss in the locker room, he's gone in an instant.

People are saying that while other teams did it to an extent, for the most part the NFL had actually warned teams not to try to abuse the uncapped league, so teams didn't do it "much." Dallas and the Skins were the most egregious - I believe the Skins deliberately restructured a ridiculous number of contracts and front-loaded everything. That's pretty blatant. Bearing in mind that the Skins are 40M under the cap, owing primarily to the differential created by the front-loading, I don't think it's particularly "dumb," so to speak. They are just back to where they are. If you think about it, it was more preposterous that they managed to be 40M under the cap despite the fantastic contracts of Haynesworth et all for the last few years, only two years past the Cerrato "stuff the salary cap with guaranteed money" plan. Even if they eat the whole 36M this year (which they may opt to do), they'd STILL be under the cap, without even "freeing up money."

There is no way the Redskins won't sue the NFL over this. It's pretty obvious collusion, and the MHEC basically forced the NFLPA to go along with it. Per Bruce Allen “The Washington Redskins have received no written documentation from the NFL concerning adjustments to the team salary cap in 2012 as reported in various media outlets. Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner’s office. We look forward to free agency, the draft and the coming football season.” And Cowboys "The Dallas Cowboys were in compliance with all league salary cap rules during the uncapped year," said Dalrymple. "We look forward to the start of the free agency period where our commitment to improving our team remains unchanged." This situation is the lols. I hear were still going after VJax

He was pretty awesome when he was suspending guys for being complete fuckwads because they were NFL players and could get away with it in the courtroom (pay-offs and whatnot), but he nixed that stuff and said "cool, you got off in court, but uhh, you're out of the NFL." That was great, but with all this over the top safety stuff, and the constant fines for clean hits... it's getting out of hand.

Miami is just retarded. Some have speculated that it is because they're making room for Peyton and Wayne, but that franchise is far too incompetent to pull that off, let alone have it work that is definitely a solid move for the Bears though. While it doesn't address that leaky line, it will take the heat off the pass rush and the rush defense

Plan Z is to trade off some of their bigger assets and set themselves up for a high draft pick next year in addition to being aggressive in the trade/FA markets. I got nothing to back that up, its just what ran through my head when I heard the trade announced.
