It's RTA, but still it's a deathless run and would be difficult to top this run. It would need a better void glide in episode 2 and a stronger E4M6-E4M8 Incredible episode 1 and 3 with solid 2 and 4. The cyberdemon gatekeeper on E4M6 let me survive for once.

It's classic speedrunning, so exciting regardless. But I have to ask.... I'm really confused about something. I'll just copy the comment I wrote on the video, but I'll likely get more insight here.... I'm baffled as to why or how there are so many people commenting, specifically on this video, negatively... Mocking him, being offended, not understanding speedrunning... This rarely happens on other speedrunning vids because usually only people in the community know or care. So why this one...?

Pretty fun run, not sure how much I want to go for a single segment run. Thankfully the most problematic parts of the run are at the start, though things can still go very wrong at the end. It turns out that it's possible to save between levels without breaking the demo though so probably I will just do that and mainly do RTA attempts, at least for a while, and if I happen to luck into a deathless run then I have a demo.

Must have gotten linked on few major outlets I suppose?

It got a lot, like a lot lot, of publicity. But, that's a bunch of people watching AGDQ, who have to be tuning in either because they're interested/fans or part of the community. Why would someone watching AGDQ comment negatively on a well-explained record in a popular game. I must just not read the comments on other videos as much lol. I have a habit not to, but in this case I don't know much about Goldeneye and wanted to see if there was any cool insight or whatever. Don't get me wrong the comments themselves aren't what have me confused. Ignorance is amusing. I just didn't know it was as common as it is on these videos (maybe). Or, perhaps moreso, how people find their way to them if they have no interest in speedrunning lol I feel like I lost my internet naivety half a decade ago, but this one just got in my brain for some reason lmao. Oh well. In the end I don't mind because it keeps bringing me back to that video, which is really hype.

Well, I can't have sound on because I'm at work, but from looking at the video and assuming he is saying the stuff written on the screen, he's just going unusually apeshit, which will make people who aren't into speedrunning surprised and put off. "Ok, this dude seems to think he's some magical legend because he ran through a 20 year old game looking into the ground, jesus. I'll just go scream that I'm a legend to my GF as I'm fucking her instead of wasting my time here". I mean, I like speedrunning and know how hard it is and how exciting it is to make a record, but to someone who doesn't know anything about it, it's going to seem really dumb to get this hyped about.

Regardless, I will most likely be playing the game for the upcoming Australian Speedrunners Marathon that I'm helping set up (in July).
