Oh god I'm so glad we're in the lead. My emotions for the rest of the year are directly tied to this outcome. Bowls and conference championships are just window dressing compared to this.

People around detroit are trying to blame the OC (Borges) but honestly Devin was incredibly inaccurate in the 2nd half. It was pretty obvious the pressure of the game/environment along with OSU's adjustments got to him. Agreed for the most part. Gardner took a step back from his recent performances. He got more pressure this game than he had in the others and it led to a few bad throws/decisions. He looked a bit tight as well which is understandable for your first game as a starter against your biggest rival. Still excited about his emergence for next year. The interception and fumble were absolutely killer, though, not to mention that a few of those sacks could have been avoided. Gotta mention Robinson's fumble as well. You gotta be more careful with the ball in such a big game. Borges called a great first half and he has looked far more comfortable with a passing quarterback. The other piece that his offense needs is a road grading O-line (rather than our smaller, agile line favored by spread attacks), which we should have in a couple years based off the guys we have been recruiting. All that being said, those third and short calls were mind boggling terrible calls. Off the top of my head I remember running twice straight up the middle (the strength of OSU's line and the weakness of ours) and twice running most obvious QB keeper ever with Denard (one of which also went straight up the middle). Like, I know he is our best runner, but they sucked in both(!!) safeties to have 10 men in the box. You can't run against that, you need a threat of the pass. And wtf happened to the Devin+Denard combo packages. Our skill position players outside of denard are pretty terrible without toussaint, why not have a few more plays to get him in the open field. Those seemed to work pretty well in the first half. So yeah, I don't think Borges lost us the game. A few mystifying calls, but I am more than willing to wait next year and probably the year after that before deciding that he is bad.

I felt like Devin had a lot of drive killers with his inaccurate passes in the 2nd half. im not even really pissed about the turnovers. Yeah, the runs up the middle were WTF. This is also the first time ive seen a non richrod team just get gashed by runs up the middle on defense.. It was pretty bad. That never used to happen before Rich Rod got there.

Watching the second half of Mich-OSU was incredible. If Denard can't throw you can't line him up at QB. What was the point of practicing all of those plays with Denard and Devin both in there if you aren't going to run them when it counts. OSU played such a weak schedule. There is a reason Borges was unemployed before Hoke picked him up to coach at SDSU. His play calling on third and short in the second half was inexcusable.

For the love of god ND better win. This Florida team would probably lose to Alabama by 35 points.

Fantastic guy and one of the last "good guy" coaches at a major college football program. However, in his last years he was a pretty bad coach that not only squandered some great talent, but was also a major contributor to the terrible transition to RRod. Not to mention he was a terrible gameday coach. Every year we came out with absolutely nothing new for the game against OSU. I have fond memories of most of his career, but he hung on just a little bit too long.

I thought it rather fitting that he end his career with a win against an Urban Meyer led Florida team with Tim Tebow. In other news, let's go ND! I wanna see them take it all, even though I hate them. I think it'd be good for the game.

NDs offense would be like LSU last year, lucky to cross the fifty against Bama. Agreed with all of this, but strangely he was great against the SEC. Not so much against USC though. His teams largely underachieved in the last five years he was at UM. They were loaded with talent, but way too conservative playcalling. I think Oregon will still have a shot as voters will have a hard time voting a Florida into a double SEC game again.

Broke a bunch of rules a couple of years ago and not playing in a "bowl" game(aka lots of monies) is their punishment.
