You're really confident in ND?
Meh, I don't have a ton of money to spare, this was more just for fun. If you want to get all serious and aggressive about it, forget it.

If you want to get all serious and aggressive about it, forget it. Jeez i notice you and a few others like to put words in my mouth. One of my most recent post was over this guy saying ND was gonna get smashed harder than OSU did vs Florida. I disagreed. Unless you wanna give me 30+pts i'll take that any day. Not once did i say ND was gonna smash Bama or Georgia. Only thing close to that was i said it was gonna be a close game. Then you asked if i wanted to do a side bet on ND and SEC champ. And i said sure how do you wanna do it. As in how much. I just assume that anyone who place bets on a football game would know the rule. But i guess you don't. Here i'll tell you what if Bama plays ND we play with the points. But if Georgia plays ND then no points is that fair enough? Btw i don't care about how much you wanna play. If you wanna do a friendly $20 bet. We can do that too. After all this is just a side bet right? Oh and btw you got it wrong. If it's a small bet i care less about the points. But if it's a hefty bet then of course we have to play with the points. Duh.

Your move. @ iGrok I can see why you were probably confused about this. What i meant was if you wanna play without points then you'll have to pay more if ND wins. example : if ND wins you pay me $170. If Bama wins i pay you $100. Because Bama would probably be a 70% favorite. This is just an example.
Every site i've checked out seems to have K-State lining up against Oregon. I guess K-State vs SEC is out of the picture. College football god is on your side i see. Haha J/K.

hmm, well I cant bet on a spread that I don't know what it is. But I'll do 3:2 on SEC over ND. Sound fair? SEC wins you get 30, ND wins I get 20?
Damn, that will really upset me if K-state doesn't get pounded by the SEC. Would have been an easy $100, and then I could give you the points on what is sure to be a stupid spread (because vegas plays to make money not to get it right) and not feel bad about letting you get some money back

LOL you're still convinced that any team besides Bama would beat K-State eh? Bama would probably be a 10pts favorite and Georgia would probably be a 3.5-6 pts favorite. Barring any kind of serious injuries.

Got my tickets to the MAC Championship tonight. I'm pumped because I've never been to a college football game before. Plus the MAC title and BCS hopes are on the line so it's gonna be INTENSE.
I just hope I'm not in the Kent State section, because I'm rooting for NIU.

Its not that I think any team could be K-state. Its that Bama, UGA, Florida, LSU, and at the time USC (maybe not without lattimore, but I'd still give them 50-50) could beat K-State and were the SEC opponents they were likely to hit
I don't like those spreads, because UGA has more of an offense than Bama. I would flip them honestly. I think bama is a slightly better team on average, UGA has higher potential, but UGA also has much more of an offense. Bama isn't likely to get over 21 points, and will hold ND to 17 at most, probably 14. UGA will hit at least 27 points, and ND will be held to 17.

KState is woefully short on talent. Texas has more but will probably shit the bed anyways. Still, there's definitely other teams that can beat them. Especially when fucking Baylor did.

Vegas spread on the National Championship game:
Bama (-6.5) vs Notre Dame Georgia (-2.5) vs Notre Dame
Not surprised both SEC teams are favored over Notre Dame.
Heisman Odds:
Johnny Manziel Wins Heisman Trophy -900 Field Wins Heisman Trophy +500 Manti Te’o Wins Heisman Trophy +450 Collin Klein Wins Heisman Trophy +650
Manziel is a huge favorite to win the Heisman.

The most meaningful point of comparison, the one that trumps anything else you can come up with, is that Alabama slapped Michigan around, whereas ND struggled even when we had 6 turnovers. If Denard throws 3 interceptions instead of 4, Michigan wins that game or goes to OT. He had one of the worst all time games in Michigan history and we could've won - think about that.
This NC game is going to be worse than Oklahoma and OSU getting the crap kicked out of them. ND is more one dimensional than those teams were.
And I've actually watched 5 1/2 ND games this year. Be proud of your 12-0, but you should be worried. That was the 4th game of the season for a fucking freshman QB for ND who had been pulled just two weeks ago for throwing so many picks. Compare Golson now to then. This is not the same team, and using the score of the michigan game as a basis for comparison is nonsensical. The offense this year went from one of the worst in the country to above average now, and I wouldnt be surprised if you see some new quirks for bama, like the hurry up they came out with on the first drive of the USC game.
I dont know if ND will beat bama. But people saying they will get blown out are delusional, at worst they lose by two scores, with a defense this good you dont get blown out.

Let's see what people thought about tOSU in December 2006.
Ohio State comes in on a 19-game winning streak after rolling through the regular season starting off with a preseason number one ranking, solidifying it with a win at Texas, getting by Michigan in a 42-39 classic, and finishing up with a Heisman Trophy for Troy Smith. Because of the ease of most of the wins, many are assuming the BCS Championship will be a coronation more than an actual fight, but is the team really that good?
Statistically, yes, averaging 410 yards and 36 points per game offensively, while allowing a mere 273 yards and 10.42 points per game.
...
The two defensive front sevens are so good, and the NFL caliber secondaries so talented, that it'll take every ounce of creativity in the two coaching staffs to generate points.
Oklahoma was averaging 290 ypg and 13 ppg when USC had their way with them.

Do you honestly believe bama or georgia has a good enough offense to blow out ND? January 7th can't get here soon enough.

This. A thousand times this. People have been saying all year, every game, that ND doesn't stand a chance. That they're gonna get rolled/exposed. It's hard to get blown out when you have the 2nd best scoring defense in the country. Or when you've only given up 2 rushing touchdowns ALL YEAR. Wasn't Oklahoma averaging 40-something points a game when ND played them? ND was gonna get crushed right? A 30-13 win is strong evidence as to the lack of respect ND gets as a team this year. No matter who they play in the NC, it will be a great game. I hope to see Bama in it. Would be great to see the top 2 defenses in the nation give truth to the phrase "Defense wins championships."
Anyway, long story short, the NC will be great. It won't be a blowout. For ND it will be a close one, win or lose.

LOL so I'm in the Kent State side, 2 sections from the Kent State band, in the middle of all the students. This is gonna be fun.
Bought an NIU hat on my way to my seats, and I am literally the ONLY person with black/red instead of yellow/blue.
NIU getting dominated. Their offense can't do anything, and on two of their three punt/kick returns they had penalties, and the other one they lost a fumble.
I think I'm officially a huge fan of Jordan Lynch.

As a Kent State Student. Congrats to NIU, I hope you jump to top 16 somehow and get a BCS bid. I really do.
[rant] that play calling in OT2 was god awful, you have Durham who is churning yards every play and you rely on a below average QB to make a pass on 3 consecutive plays. Hazzel, you did some amazing shit with this team, but man wtf is that play calling? [/rant]

You can't get much prouder of Kent State than my mom and aunt. They'll still be happy though at the best run Kent has had in a long, long time.

Kent State's QB was pretty bad. He had a few lucky plays to keep them in the game but KSU's D couldn't stop the run at all. As much as I'd like to see the MAC get its first BCS bid, neither of these teams would see much success imo because they're too one dimensional on offense, and Kent's defense is questionable.
Kent State's fans sucked. They weren't really into the game at all (except the band). The most rowdy fans were a group of fellow Detroiters who said they came to cheer for Kent because "their colors are maize and blue like Michigan."
That said that was some experience. The fourth quarter and OT alone was worth the $15 I had to pay for my seat. Best value I've ever gotten for a sporting event. If your team is in the game or you are in Metro Detroit, consider going because it's cheap and intense, I had much more fun than at the Lions' games.
Gonna go to the Little Caesars Bowl if the matchup looks good, but I doubt it will.
Oh cool, Jordan Lynch actually broke Denard Robinson's single season QB rushing record during the game. Give this guy the Heisman.

The team's sides were both mostly full, but there was pretty much no one in the general admission areas (the endzones). And they didn't even open the upper deck.
Wow the SEC Championship has had two fake punts already and LSU isn't even in the game!
Dave Doeren of NIU hired to be new NC State head coach.
