I like to think my rankings provide a highly plausible alternative to the AP and coaches polls, but my top 11 is quite orthodox in that it has all the teams ranked highly in the mainstream polls except for FSU. You sir are a crazy genius. Rolling Tide, meet Beaver Dam. Alabama, it turns out, does not have a mortal lock on the No. 1 spot in college football. Oregon State, which is off to a 3-0 start, is No. 1 in two of the computer indexes used in the BCS standings formula. The Beavers are tops in the ColleyMatrix, which boasts "Bias Free Matrix Rankings." If Colley had its way, Oregon State today would play No. 2 Notre Dame for the national title. This would not bring back fond memories for Notre Dame, handed a humiliating 41-9 loss by Oregon State in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl. Florida is No. 3 in Colley's rankings, followed by Alabama (oh yeah, those guys), Florida State, South Carolina and Kansas State. UCLA fans will be thrilled to know the Bruins are No. 24, well ahead of No. 45 USC. Ken Massey's BCS rankings also have Oregon State and Notre Dame in the first two spots, followed by Texas Tech (what?), Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina, Texas and . ..Alabama. UCLA is No. 19 in Massey's report, while USC is 45. We'll go out on a limb and say some of these numbers may fluctuate greatly between now and December. Maybe between now and next Monday. http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-oregon-state-bcs-20121001,0,3859824.story

Meh. I'm not buying a ticket to ride the Geno hype until after WV plays Texas.

i liked the fight our guys showed when they were down 14-0 due to botched center-QB exchanges just 2 minutes into the 1st quarter. the final score reads 38-28 but 14 pts were directly related to those freak mistakes between two guys that have been working together since 9th grade and then also one garbage time TD with 30 seconds left in the game.

I wish Towson had won that game, considering it looked like they could have if they stopped LSU's offense. The only thing we know for sure is that Alabama lost the lead for all about 15 seconds, and that both Bama and Oregon are the only teams to deserve to be in the top 5 at the moment. To be fair Towson had 9 points up till the 4th quarter and the Tigers had basically checked out then ran the ball till the game was over. Expect them to be hyped next week as always in big games I expect it will be close with LSU coming on top we a more solid over all team. Also Oregon maybe be there with wins but they arn't on the same field as Alabama/LSU/GA/SC. Last year LSU gave them a spanking that's with their senior quarter and better receivers. Don't expect the championship title to leave the SEC.

Didn't LSU fans say last year that "If you think this team is good, wait til next year?" 7 first downs? Alabama will crush LSU in Baton Rouge this year oh jeez.

I actually thought Florida St. was for real this year. But then they choked and couldn't score on NC.State. SMH Lsu i saw a loss coming. Might even lose 3 games by the end of the season. Georgia is probably going to end up beating Florida and Florida might end up beating S.Carolina and Florida. Notre Dame deserve some big time recognition. They are for real this year folks.
