I have an embassy lvl 3 So I'm going to start an alliance except if there is already one in the neighborhood. I m in -7/147, Darkmage. So if some of you are close, just let me know. I only know there are Neo and Plto who are quite close to me. My neighbour seems to be inactive so I can raid him every 20 minutes, that's so lame =)

i had the same thought, ditto but we're both in the us so it's kinda useless, times will be basically the same with a 3-hour max difference

13-14 phalanx is not needed (i have the impression that i saw that a few times). i go raiding population 45 (biggest so far) villages and get their resources and come back with no losses. so overtheunder, you should be fine, raiding is extremely lucrative
as gaul retribution from others isn't that bad either, since your crannies cover so much

I've been bad, and started raiding everyone in my area. raided 5 towns, but i really didn't recoup the cost of investing in 9 shitty units. then i raided the wrong guy, lost all my units, upgraded my cranny like a motherfucker which was necessary cause of the retribution i knew that i would be facing, but I lost about 200 units of resouces (which is really no big deal)
mmm.. i think im just gonna keep upgrading my cranny and warehouse for now... other than that, i have no real idea what i should do next...its getting a bit boring..advice?
btw im a gaul.

Just keep growing. Read the Travian forum, they have tips and plans about growing your villiage. I plan on following the "Roman economic powerhouse" plan http://forum.travian.com/viewtopic.php?t=2912 , where for week 1.5 to week 4 you upgrade fields from level 3 to level 6 -- optionally raiding. And then you get cavalry and mill.
And it is important to only raid inactives, especially if you are gaul because you risk so many units at once. I lost 2 phalanx to someone I though was inactive and it hurt -- I'm still not sure if they are active -- so I sent them a note asking them, otherwise threatening I would raid them again. Even if they don't, I'm not sure if I will, since I'm scared they are building defense. I have 6 easy to raid inactive villiages within 40 minutes of me, and no real raiding competition yet in my neighborhood.

I have 11 leg right now. Just wondering if I face like 2 defenders. Will I crush them or suffer losses? edit. nm checked the combat sim. I am going to pwn that 49 pop close to me. No fucking way he has more troops than me.

As some say that raiding is so profitable, I'm going to slow down my econ growth at around 32-32-32-18 and build L4 Cranny as my newb protection ends, and then follow-up with rally-rax-4+ legionnares and start raiding <10 villages. Apparently it takes 12 successful raids to break-even the investment, but as I'll be using them for defence when I'm not raiding, it should be worth it, in my opinion.
Does this plan sound good to you guys(the guys who are uber gosu here)? Or do you recommend that I build L6+ cranny and get up to all level 3 fields first?

So you mean that nobody ever attacked you yet?

btw this game is quite stupid if you are bigger than your opponent because you can REALLY trash someone for good. I mean this guy with 50 pop that I am attacking right now will never be able to catch up if I dont get attacked by a big guy very soon.

That's where alliances come into effect. Most browser MMOs are like this.

i stilll haven't emptied out the inactives around me yet. i'll attack the actives when i have 30 legs.

if anyone is near -98, 115, and have spare iron, please trade with me i have a lot of clay and wood to spare, but running nil on iron after cashing out 1500+ for an upgrade 1:1 ratio trade, i have a spare 500clay, and 400wood thanks!
reason i'm not just putting it up on the market is because some trades take up to 10+ hours which is just a waste of my time.

so if you are gaul what units should I get? Im just nearing the raiding time now...
I am the the same size as the other biggest person in the area, but their are a few small ones.
