You'll keep the handicap forever really, but come the time that ressources are irrelevant (20+villages) your foot has a very slight edge in attack/grain over gauls and teutons. Until then you'll have to live with the worst farming/trading/fighing (all in relation to costs) abilities.

Raiding: Teutons: Swingerclub ftw!!!! Nevermind teching. Nevermind defense. A Lvl 20 Rax can build 700+ of them each day- any questions ? If you're not that active you might go for the less hungry Axemen/Paladins. Gauls: Teutates Thunder (and Phalanx early on). They rock, but have to raid very often to make up for the high costs. Romans: Legionaires and Imperiatoris (Cav). Both less efficient than the above, but still the best you can do. Gl hf.

http://forum.travian.com/viewtopic.php?t=3744 the overall sense that I get is that teutons are definitely much stronger in the early game. Then there seems to be some disagreement about the mid to late game. Some say that as long as you can stay reasonably close to the teutons in the early game, the superior strength of roman units and teutons weak defense will tilt the balance over to the romans. While others say that you can't overcome the early game teuton advantage, and they will maintain their lead throughout the game. Being a travian newb, I can't say which one I agree with. As a roman, I hope Monsen is wrong, but I really just don't know. But I get a feeling that it mostly balances out in the end, with the edge being small enough to overcome with activity/alliance/skill. And on a personal note, I've finally finished upgraded all my fields to lvl 5! I feel like I'm halfway there.

2200 / 1900 / 2040 / 520 and a little expensive to build 350 / 50 / 230 / 60 but they are fucking 90 attack that can carry 75 resources. And 19/fields and hour movespeed. *jizz* I'm expecting to drop a bit but in the next few days i hope to sky rocket with my crazy raiding !!!! lets hope the plan works;p
