At what stage should I think about expanding? I have 210 population right now with most of my fields at lvl 7. Should I slowly think about bulding a palace/residence and upgrading it, or should I wait until I have my fields fully upgraded and brickworks/iron stable/bakery/sawmill built? Second question is should I build a palace or residence in my main village? Finally, when I do decide to expand, should I build the new village right next to my original? Or should I space them out?

1. Rom and Asceleon (pop ~240) are currently working towards their 2nd village, Rom says he'll probably be able to expo in 2 days. I'm (pop ~220) working on my 2nd settler out of the 3 needed, so I'll be able to expo tomorrow. We don't know if we're expanding too early or too late. 2. I think we reached an agreement on this one, you should build a residence in your main village. First of all, a residence is much cheaper than a palace. Second, if you plan on expoing into a 9 or 15 crop village, those are much sought after, so a palace would help protect it better. A palace also gives a defense bonus like a wall. 3. If you expo close, you can protect it better and transfer resources faster. If you expo farther away, you can expand your raiding range. However, you probably don't want to end up producing the same troops from both villages, since the upgrades you get only apply to the units produced in the village where you got the upgrades. You don't want to get the same upgrades twice. You would want to specialize your villages, so you probably won't end up getting raiding troops from both villages.

Just one question: Where are these 9 and 15 crop villages. Ive checked everything near me and they are all 6 or 7 crop fields. Am I just unlucky or am I looking in the wrong place? So I guess I should start building a residence and upgrading it since I'm pretty close to you guys in pop.

I'm waiting until I have 50 Equ Imps and Praetors tech then going for Residence. Waiting until level 10 fields, that's too long and too expensive. I'll have all level 8 fields by that time. Answered already Far out, with more crop fields. I'll be relying on the 50 Equ Imps to be mobile for defense.

You need a level 5 main house to get Residence.

I figure both towns will need calvary, then what else is there specfically?

Raiding cavalry is fine in both villages, as they are not the main fighting force. What yous hould do is get one village specialized in offense and the other one defense.

And no, you can't build your expos far out, or they'll get conquered VERY easily.

You aren't meant to have calvary until very, very late. Stick with mass clubbers and spearfighers for defense from calvary. Paladins are only good for defense. Teuton knights are your only offensive calvary but that requires level 15 academy and level 10 stables. Kinda see my point...?

Main village for defense, yet you guys are trying to get 15 crop field villages for your new expansion. How are you guys going to manage any kind of economy for offense with your second village with just 3 resource fields?
