I've never scammed people out of real life cash. Now in game items on the other hand...
|
i don't think you'll be able to scam in this game. also, chris was not opposed to having multiple characters on your account. no info on the trading system though; it's still a bit early for that kind of detail.
|
CR seems to be fairly friendly toward the pve carebear / stupid player with settings and such, so I doubt he will look at fraud and scamming as a "part of game mechanics."
|
When accounts allow multiple characters, it's Easier to create throw away scam chars. Care Bears gonna cry when I take their ships and launder it through to my main eventually

Isn't Wing Commander the movie with Space Cats?

Koll, a new FAQ was released, You will be interested in the Ship Insurance part but I'll highlight a key part that I read.
"Will ships I add to my account have lifetime insurance?
Users who registered and bought at least one ship before November 26, 2012 can purchase additional ships with lifetime insurance for the next twelve months of development. Users who registered on or after November 26, 2012 can purchase additional ships with variable length starter insurance policies ranging from two months to twelve months"
So you have 12 months to decide if you'd like to use me to help you get an lifetime insurance ship.
I like this part the best though from the new FAQ on insurance.
"What happens if I don’t have insurance?
Your character will have to buy a new ship with any credits he has, or if he doesn’t have enough credits fly missions for a third party (both NPC and player) until he’s earned enough to buy his own ship again."
I can hire me some bitches! Yeah!

Wow, this game looks beyond amazing. Wish I had gotten in during the pledge drive, but oh well.

OK thanks for that, that's quite good as I was wanting to save up and buy something bigger later, and now I can ^^

Are you sure that lifetime insurance policy will stay with the ship? Or will the insurance policy disappear when the ship changes owners?

On December 04 2012 16:58 Craze wrote: Are you sure that lifetime insurance policy will stay with the ship? Or will the insurance policy disappear when the ship changes owners? From the same FAQ : Can I trade my lifetime insurance ship? Yes. The lifetime insurance will follow the ship hull when it is legally sold or gifted. If the ship is stolen or otherwise captured, the policy will not transfer.

I don't know how much of the past few pages you've read, but I'm along the same lines of thinking as you are koll. I played a few months worth of EVE but I got bored with it but it was obvious from reading the EVE forums and from playing that if you have a good trade route set up, you can make bank. Also, if you steal your competition's stock as it's in transit, you make more profit and they lose profit. That's why I want a trading squad, a cover squad, and a pirate squad. They will all be working for the same Alliance so to speak.
Until we learn more about the game, it's hard to say if it'd be better to try and capture an asteroid base as a home of operations, or to pool towards a Carrier and have a mobile base of operations. I don't know if we'd ever be big enough to fight the "GoonSwarm" of SC, so staying mobile might be a better option. Time will tell. If this is actually a game that requires skill, numbers will not matter. I shit you not when I say 10 man TL fleets have engaged 90 man fleets and come out better. I think it is very, very, very important we get immensely rich as quickly as possible. We basically need someone to be the Kwark of the squadron, who on a whim loses enormous amounts of money and doesn't care.
edit for PM

Hi all, Kollin I am a pretty big supporter of this game in the KS pledge and have a squad of the pledge ships, I can only use one at a time and these ships will have lifetime insurance (on the ship not the addons). I also have a significant number of credits from the pledge. So in short I will be able to back a squad financially from the start. If you can organize and get some commitments from other experienced eve folks I do have the option to add additional ships to my pledge in the next 12 months and would be happy to do so. Lets talk if there is interest.
PMed you, thanks for the help

Nice this will work out well my ships will be put to use and TL will strike terror in another game lol.
So I'll coordinate with Kollin
|
Excellent, I'll make a post in the eve thread now trying to gauge initial interest.
|
Great Kollin, if you get the people and I will get you the ships and credits to start. Right now I have 7 ships I had planned on leasing out, but that makes for a nice starting squad (though one is a tanker.... )
|
Tankers will be needed to help keep the pirate squad fueled, unless we can secure and hold a base.
