The ingame forums are also fun. People stating facts, and then arguing, about how certain ships work and why some things are better than others, when in fact noone has a clue except for the designers. As long as the developers don't listen to the forum people (or even read and get all the negativity) the game should probably be fine. eh, the forums are usually not worth the read with the exception of the ask-a-dev forum. there are some occasional good ideas though, and the developers do keep them in mind, and sometimes even implement them. so it's not all terrible at least. | ||

My guess is middle-late December chris said it would likely be delayed until january in a recent rock, paper, shotgun interview. instead of using the stock crytek server solution, they'll wait until their home-brewed system is ready, and use that instead. either way, it's coming soon! also, stay tuned to the rsi website, as there is a four-hour live stream coming on november 26th that you won't want to miss. | ||

Is i5 2500k + 6870 too bad to run this game? I get that the 6870 is a bit slow and bad now, so i might upgrade soon anyway. | ||

It would be nice if i could realistically taste some gameplay though I mean, in the hangar module i get probably about 6-7 FPS. I would expect that this game should be out of range for a 6870 anyway, with a 2015 release scheduled that card will be very old by then. | ||

I would expect that this game should be out of range for a 6870 anyway, with a 2015 release scheduled that card will be very old by then. what? you have to be getting more than that. what detail level are you using? what monitor resolution do you have? i'm probably getting at least 20 fps, using a 3.8ghz quad-core amd phenom 2 and an old radeon 4890! *edit* oh, how many ships are in your hangar? haha, if you have a lot that will certainly tank your fps! i went from one to two ships and it took a pretty big performance hit. also, that last hangar update with the second skin, fish tank and video screen hurt my fps as well. | ||

Good point. The 4 ships in my hangar can't be helping too much. I'm at 1920x1080 btw, and i can get to about 15-20 fps on low detail, it gets worse if i go higher. To be honest, i haven't gone to the forums to complain about it because this is pre alpha stuff and they are probably way too busy ironing out some of the big issues to be worrying about performance problems at this stage, which i fully understand. I'll just have to wait and see RE the dogfighting module i guess. Still with xmas coming up it couldn't hurt to be prepared by asking the gf for a new gfx card | ||
