Graphic wise, it's beautiful, although design wise, the dying star is really much better looking than the broken moon (for those wondering, these are the two currently playable maps).
For now it's basically a space shooter, with waves incoming when you kill the previous one. I made it to wave 5 before i had to abandon ship because of a collision. TBH, collisions are probably my main cause of death in the game so far. You're flying towards an enemy, you kill it then collide with the wreckage -_- Also missiles are really fucking powerful afaik.
I'm not too found of the missile UI though. It takes too much space and is too eye catchy, especially since there's a voice telling you "missile locked", so I don't need a big ass red circle twice the size of anything else on screen. And I don't need an animation for it either, I'd rather have it blink around the target rather than coming all across the screen from nowhere.
Anyway, Arena Commander is really nice and I can't wait to try and fly with you guys.
yeah, it's pretty fun so far. But missiles are really strong, probably overpowered. It's always a guaranteed kill if you lock on. The last 6 Vanduul I killed have been 5 missile kills and only one with the other weapons.
Also I tried adding the other weapons (from my other ship) to the test Hornet but those are either not working or have no sound-effects and one doesn't use energy at all and I think it also doesn't do any damage but I'd need to test more to confirm that. For now only the standard weapons seem to really work well but I guess that are pretty easy fixes that we'll get soon enough. Also I can't wait to start fighting waves and waves of Vanduul together with other people on skype
I have more problems starting the client. I updated my old one and it wouldn't start. Killed it and completly downloaded the new one. The download probably finished 3 hours ago. But it just says "please wait". I can't start the game.
//ok found an advice that helped. But I can't find the pedestal with the helmet. Ran like five times through the entire hangar interacting with everything possible, lol. I guess I will try again tomorrow. Too tired right now.

The helmet is right on your right side when you initially appear. If you still haven't found it, also the problem with "please wait" its a common one, so ye just close the lauchner and open it again, and thats it.
I've got only Aurora as a ship and its kinda clumsy, but i dont very like the controls with mouse and keyboard, its hard to aim correctly, the hud of Aurora is less visible then other combat ships from what i've seen, so the combat is way pleasant with more combat oriented ships obviously.
Also i would like more strategy in combat, I know i read or heard somewhere that there will be some system to allocate your energy to make your ship faster, or allow more shields when someones on your tail, things like that, i've just played for an hour also with only one ship, i probably missing a lot.

Go to your game folder and delete the USER folder in the CitizenClient folder. That should make the helmet appear.
@Greem
You can already reallocate. I think it's in the 3rd tab of the HUD.
EDIT : I made it to the 10th wave though I'm confident i could have beaten the fourth elite wave if I hadn't died from an asteroid collision in wave 1 -_-
It will be nice when they implement key binding. I am having quite a bit of fun with AC, but it has it's quirks and the AI is stupid sometimes. Like pants-on-head stupid.

Restarting the client didn't help. What helped was setting the "Extract: StarCitizenLauncher" note in the install.log from 100% to 0%. Still can't find the helmet. I deleted the USER folder, it still isn't on my right where I start. Guess I will searching the forums for a solution now.^^
//searched the forums, seems like there are other people with the same problem, no solution yet. It's not only the helmet that is missing but the pedestal as well.
for people who didn't knew about voice commands, its pretty amazing, saves a lot of time, and brings immersion, that and oculus rift can bring some amazing experience, even in pre alpha stage.

That's the whole point, it is satire.
My god.
edit:
On the game: It's great. I can't seem to get past wave 13, the AI gets infinitely better as you pass the fourth wave of elites. Without both wingmen I get obliterated at that point.
The missile graphic is too grandiose for a military craft, but I'm sure that will change given the feedback they are getting.
There are soooo many commands that voiceattack or something like it may turn out to be provided. Some commands lend themselves so well to voice, such as manipulating shielding.
Some people have been complaining about how overpowered missiles are, they seem to suck hard at the higher waves once the enemy actually evades them with countermeasures.
I know there are many Voice Attack profiles. But this one is mine. Feel free to use it, change it, however you like. I'll be adding more commands as time goes on for boosting powerplant energy to shields etc.
In order to VIEW the commands. Download the file. It will be in a .vap format. Move the file from your download folder to the VoiceAttack folder and drop it in.
Next load up VoiceAttack, click the dropdown box under the word Profile: and select import profile. Import PRStarCit-Profile.vap. It should be selected after importation. Click edit profile to bring up the list of commands.
My profile uses a prefix - suffix system. In order to activate the commands you must FIRST say "May" which is the name of my onboard "AI". (Roleplaying!) So I first say "May" (my prefix) in order to activate the program and to listen for my next command. Then I say "Missile" (my suffix) which tells it to try and obtain a missile lock. So all in all I would say "May. Missile." And the program will give me a verbal response if it heard me and attempt to do what I say.
You can easily remove the prefix and just say "Missile" if you'd like. I like the prefix so that if I'm talking on teamspeak and say the key words, they won't activate while I'm playing unless I say "May" first. If you don't want to call your AI "May" then you can just change the prefix to "Bitch" or whatever. You can change the voice using any Text to Speech voice pack.
If you have any questions, feel free to post here or PM me.

How to create commands for you trial users out there since you CAN NOT import user profiles. (Lameeee....)
Click on the Person with the pencil inside of him. Next we create the prefix. Click New Command at the top right. When I say: May Then on the left hand side click "Other" and select Make VoiceAttack Start listening. At the bottom, Command Type - Command prefix checked. In the box that says prefix/suffix group type: Ship. Hit OK.
Next click New Command. Other: Make VoiceAttack stop listening. Key Press: Click the keyboard on the right side to bring up the dropdown and select the letter "R". Leave the key as Press and Release and hit OK. Other: Say something Text to Speech. In the window, type "Acquiring closest bogey" or whatever you want. Select the voice you want. Hit Preview. Hit OK. Ensure Command Type - Command Suffix is selected and select "Ship" Hit OK.
Now hit DONE at the bottom right and try out your voice command! "May. Bogey."
If you still need help, PM me, ask or google a youtube tutorial.
Seriously though, throw the guys the $8. They deserve it.
