As far as i know is only pay to win "faster"... but it should be similar to POE that money makes no difference if you are farming or playing normally. Anyway there will ALWAYS be guys ahead of you because of money, even if it's not pay to win, people would pay other guy to farm his char, so in the end, every game always have a pay to win aspect.
If there are items you can get only paying money, and those items buffs your stats ingame, then it's fuckd up.
And by the way, if this game is kind of a Day Z (super sandbox) but also wants to have a sense of economics and society based in a roman empire OF COURSE there should be AT THE START players that are just stronger than others, hey, we were not born all equals :D.

This is not "the game has p2w" because it is not an inherent feature. Sure everyone can try to get advantages in any game by throwing money at the black market. That doesn't mean the game itself is p2w because it would need to offer a p2w feature by itself.
Talking about the general means, not Star Citizen.

But still, I'm not sure, but Start Citizen doesn't have better items that are only acquired through money right ? So if that's the case I just don't see it as a problem.

is there every ship available for multiplayer testing, or everyone is stuck with the ship, he/she buyed/pledged for ? I heard somewhere that for balance and testing purposes, everyone will be able to fly any ship in multiplayer, but it was so long ago, i dont really recall if its truth or rumor.

Multiplayer now available for the first 60,000 players. I'm in and pew pewing. It is awesome.
|
Tried to play but game crashed. I'll give it another go tonight probably.

Dear god. My life will be over when this games come out...

The Arena Commander 12.5 patch has stabilized the multiplayer dogfighting substantially. Still waiting on the options for custom key binds, but very much liking what I'm seeing right now.

Figured this was a reasonable place to put this:
Dunno if anyone is using Origin these days, but they have Wing Commander 3 for free at the moment if anyone never played it and wants to see some of Chris Roberts' earlier work.
|
Wing Commander 3 is alright, but I've always felt like it was one of the weakest of the series. WC4 is probably the best nowadays, WC2 is also really good but its also much more dated.

so i clocked some hours in a 300i post 12.5 and i enjoy the game not rubberbanding as much as it did previously. But the 300i feels like flying a goddamn space whale, turning circle is gigantic, responsiveness is non existant. When i accelerate to 215 you can forget about turning without drifting in the direction you were flying previously, i very much dislike the "turrets-in-space"-feel that the game has right now. I hope it gets more to be like real dogfighting where you fly behind your prey for a lot longer.
Sadly ppl on RSI forums seem to think that the flight model is so good and im too noob to understand it, i just miss the feeling of conventional dogfighting.

yo i get that this is a space sim, but turning your pointer at the enemy and then flying straight at him until you ram him just isnt fun. Theres no strategy involved in flying, when you follow someone he can just turn towards you and the space jousting begins again. Its so much more arcady than it should be, and all of this because of turrets-in-space bullshit.
even goddamn bf1942 dogfights were more strategic, and thats as arcadey as it gets.

Those that are part of the TL org. I left my old org and I'm throwing my lot back in with ya'll. do we have a private forum and/or mumble/TS (or using the team liquid TS?) it would be fun to try and organize sync drops to play with each other. My RSI handle is SabinBlitz.
I am bringing a 325 and a SWACS. Not sure if we need a swac so I'm considering going cutless or freelancer. Not sure what the org needs.
|
ingame i'm "Mani" and im a cutlass owner and in the org. I hang out in the TL DayZ channels on TL.TS3

I can't seem to start a dogfight game I'm pretty sure I am an Alpha Backer, I have acces to the hangar and my i325a, but when I want to start the arena, I can"t click on either mod proposed. Any idea ? :p
|
delete the user folder in your citizenclient folder, other than that, tried re-installing it? you can see if you have acces to the arena module if you log in on the RSI site. You should to that first.
How are you accessing arena commander? by pressing esc and clicking arena commander? or by sitting in the pilot seat?

I am blasting the shit out of those people that just fly straight and turn around or whatever stupid thing they think is "cool".
Booming and Zooming is the best way to stay alive and earn points/kills for your team. If you're spinning in circles like a retard, somebody is gonna nail you from behind. Real combat is using speed, distance and the enemy's lack of awareness to your advantage. If you're spinning in a circle like a god damn moron, you're going to die a lot via inexperienced pilots ramming you (like in War Thunder) or somebody just flying slowly behind you and blasting you.
Best thing to do is go into free flight mode (No fun, I know) turning off G-Safe and Comstab and fly along the outside of the map 4 times avoiding asteroids and the boundary while going full speed and toggling the IFCS on and off to avoid plastering yourself on the wall or rock. THEN go jump into a multiplayer map. You'll find that you're ready to rock and roll. This is similar to "warming up" in CS or SC.
