I've had a Constellation since they first went on sale as the Space Superiority ship. I also own a Freelancer MIS, Super Hornet, Cutlass, and 315p. I obviously have a PvP/combat focus, and wanted a nice big bruiser superiority ship. Now the variants come out, and they're all about versatility! Not a military variant among them! Really sucks, will have to melt my Connie for a Tali as soon as that's possible. Connie seems like probably the worst ship in the game right now (unless you *want* a ship for versatility, then it's great)

I mean, if Blizzard shows the first Trailer for a game, it's hype. But here it somehow feels a little cheap. Maybe because i already bought the game and now they want even more from me? i think you're reading too much into it. it's just to show off the ships, and if people want to get one or get a different variant, there are links to do so. this has been the same since the campaign started; no need to be surprised now. as always, purchases above the base $30 ship package are optional, as they always have been, and ships can be acquired in-game with credits you earn, as they always have been. Nope, I meant 315p. That's my solo/dragonslayer RP adventuretime ship :D

Since the last patch CIG gimped the aurora and the 300i alot with those nonconverging nongimballed no-dmg weapons. hope theyre gonna fix that stuff soon. Racing against the clock is much fun in any craft tho, multiplayer racing is stupid because the race always ends before i can finish it with 350r and M50s racing in it. Hornet drifting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUXgIHn_9sI not so much a ship gimp, as it was changing back to what they were always supposed to be. it's a pain now trying to use the mouse on fixed weapons; i'll have to try again with my joystick. i'll also have to figure out a way to control the gimbaled weapons with a joystick, or some other alternative. a joystick is not the best input device for controlling gimbaled weapons or turrets. also, the weapons do converge, and the stock guns on the aurora and 300i are actually some of the best in the game. specifically, the omnisky 6 on the 300i are the most powerful lasers in the game, and the behring m3a on the aurora are the best bang-for-the-buck lasers in the game. they definitely are not "no-dmg" weapons.

I am mostly looking for something like the X-series in multiplayer (sandbox in a large universe) and economy + wars like eve, which one of these would be most similar to these requirements? I think both ED and SC will have that, and in the end it might come down to how they implement different mechanics. Star Citizen is far from being finished though, they are realising - and testing - it in different modules the flight module (aka Arena Commander) for the smaller ships are currently being tested. The Sandbox portion is called "the persistent universe", and will most likely have all those things you asked for and more in one way or another.

Its a clear bug and makes the stock 300i inusable right now. The Hornets Gatling guns deal far more dmg than slow firing weapons, just because you can have more time on target, and not only 3 shots and then no more energy. Theres a reason most people in that last chairman letter want a Gatling gun for their ships. the m3a's might be the best bang-for-the-buck on paper, but what good are they when the hornet can take an infinite amount of their shots and then just blow you to pieces after it tanks everything. The M50 with gatlings is similar, it just doesnt need to tank anything because its mobility is so great, that you just cant hit it. And dont get me started on mouse wobble in relative mode. The current iteration of AC is a nightmare for starter ships. Vanduul swarm is for pussies. In 0.8 auroras and 300i could hold their own against hornets, thats not the case anymore.
