https://robertsspaceindustries.com/promotions/Gamescom-Free-Fly-2016 just dropped by to see what's up and watched this video he starts out on some junky space station then gets in his ship and warps to another station, goes inside it and you can see the enormous window of the room looking down upon the planet, then he meets up with this guy and goes to some outpost, then flies to an asteroid field and threatens another ship who opens fire on him and busts him up, he flies into the asteroids to escape (its not clear if the other guy flew off or if he actually was able to hide somehow?) and then he sees this tiny settlement on one of the asteroids its sick lol i didn't know they'd implemented open world warping between areas now

Look at World's Adrift - development for 2-3 years on only a ~$3 million budget and it looks more exciting than SC will ever be. Seriously. This game is NEVER going to be ANYTHING they are claiming it to be and it will NEVER work. You think people are salty over NMS? Wait till CIG "releases" this game. Lol.

I also disagree with your comment on Worlds Adrift. Looks kinda bleh to me. I don't keep too much track of SC because I am just waiting till it all comes together (which I think is easily 2+ years away). Of course you may be right and this game turns out to be shit, but I have a good feeling about it.

Friday, August 19 / 19:00 UTC GAMESCOM PRESENTATION 9pm CEST https://www.twitch.tv/starcitizen i haven't been able to run the game, it crashes after loading for 1-3 minutes. i think its not built to run on duo cores, there was a community workaround for duo cores during patch 2.1 but i can't find any info since then

After reading about rumors/incidents around the game 2 days ago and seeing the gameplay today, i also cant imagine that either SQ42 or SC will ever be playable.

There are bugs everywhere, people are clipping through walls, people are falling out of ships. This is all on the OFFICIAL CIG stream. This is a fucking train wreck haha. This game is NEVER coming out. DO NOT FUND, If you're already a backer GET A REFUND. I did. I think the release date is set for 2016. Btw do you have a link to any of the vids?

Assuming they stick with it, 2 years minimum. I don't back anything on kickstarter so I have nothing to refund. Still looking forward to this game, hopefully they can finish it, but we shall see. So yeah, i hope they succeed. Not only because i am sure it could be a great game, but because what it could bring us in the future.

when i first saw star citizen it showed me 1 giant space cruiser with the ability to seamlessly walk around it and get on a mini ship and fly around outside. that was the closest we'd come to seamless/instance-free gaming since the old MMO generation with vanguard saga of heroes. and i thought it was fucking amazing, at long last someone was trying to do it. i never dared to hope that they would have multiple areas in the game (pretty sure they said they will just be sticking to 1 area because it was ambitious enough having 1 seamless area), let alone instance-free multiple areas, let alone freakin planetary scope. the absolutely insanely fine detail they've given to the areas they've shown so far is the cherry on the cake. i'd rather have 2-3 insanely detailed, character-driven areas than any number of poorly characterised ones it really is pushing the absolute of what we want from the perfect game there might still be 10 years left of development but someone has to do it and from what they showed today they are closer than i've even imagined people will bother with. to me it looks as though they're able to demonstrate all the "hard" things, massive scope, incredible detail graphics, completely instance-free, FPS system, item system, quest system, ship and upgrade system, interactions system. they have all of those things, they just gotta keep working on them until they reach release level

I haven't backed, or paid for anything for it, but i certainly hope it will manage to work around all the problems, and it gives me hope we get new games which are more willing to push boundaries on gameplay and scale, because i find most games released nowadays to be something that i had already played too many times. So yeah, i hope they succeed. Not only because i am sure it could be a great game, but because what it could bring us in the future. People don't want it to be a trainwreck but there are a tons of alarm signs that point to it never fully releasing. The time spent and what they have to show for it. The size of the studio and how fast they are burning through cash because of it. The shear amount of content promised. As you said if it all releases as advertised its going to be a huge and utterly amazing game but many people think they seriously bit of way way more then they could possibly chew.

Releasing more CLOTHES? This game is NEVER going to be ANYTHING they are claiming it to be and it will NEVER work. You think people are salty over NMS? Wait till CIG "releases" this game. Lol. This game is heading in the direction they want it to be, what you can see when you for example launch the alpha client (i think everyone can do it now, even if you didn't backed). And it will take some time to get rid of all the bugs, and maybe it will never be as epic as people imagine it will be (cause expectations are enormous here). The thing is, they are at least trying to get there, instead of this minimalistic aproach we see from devs so often. Even if this game fail, it already brought more advancement and scope to the industry than all those Assasins Creeds 11 or other "remastered" versions of whatever random game you can imagine. Hoping that they will fail makes me think you are complete tool without any kind of imagination.
