I don't know if it's worth a full $10, but I certainly enjoyed it. I won't spoil anything though

The bosses in this game are actually bosses though. In Dark Souls 1, as long as you shoved yourself right up against a boss's ass, you could easily kill it. :S Also, don't use dual greatsword weapons lol. They kill your stamina and leave you very vulnerable. I get a ridiculous number of backstabs on greatsword and ultra greatsword users, and this is with Faraam's set and a straight sword. :/

I really liked the level design, but the rest I kind of thought was just meh. Sinh was such a seriously designed fight. Basically either you wear the fancy knuckle ring +2 and have repair powder and it's a stupid easy version of kalameet, or you don't and he's impossible to kill. I just think that's poor design. That's not punishing, or hard, that's just a chinsy little trick. Oh hey! Your weapons broke in three hits lolol. Like wtf is that. Goes against the hard but fair nature of it's predecessors that I loved.

I'm on second DLC now, which is quite harder. Didn't defeat any of the bosses yet, trying to find the thing to shut down those annoying statuettes.

I was a big BKH user, and it does degrade pretty fast despite its 70 durability. Against Sinh, I used the Drakekeeper Sword. It worked perfectly fine for me. Sure, I used it together with bow so I could damage that bastard when he was just flying jolly all around me. I'm on second DLC now, which is quite harder. There's 6 at the very beginning (as I'm sure you know), 1 after defeating Sir Alonne, and 4 here:

Even the mobs in both DLC are super hard compared to pre DLC mobs, especially in the 2nd DLC.

For me, he's definitely my favorite boss in the whole game now. For what it's worth, VaatiVidya (who does a lot of lore analysis and commentary on Dark Souls) described the Fume Knight as probably the hardest boss in the game. I'd agree that the Fume Knight is certainly one of the tougher ones to be honest. When I got to the Fume Knight, I was already an extremely experienced PvE/PvP Dark Souls player. Personally, I rarely risk parries against bosses or PvP, but his attacks are fairly simple to dodge. It took me about 4-5 times to beat him. I didn't use the NPC allies, since having allies in a boss fight makes the boss a lot stronger. Also, the Red Iron Twinblade is a godly weapon for PvE.

I did it with a DEX build with Manslayer. I had a very good Fire resistance shield for the fire orb attacks because I could not seems to dodge it well. I only fought him in NG+ so far, but he's fun. A lot more fun than Smelter demon which is just unfair in my opinion.

I killed more bosses on my first try in DS2 than I did in DS1. Sure, I knew what the game was about, and how to play, but the bosses should be something new. The only boss that gave me any semblance of trouble was Vendrick. And maybe Smelter. DS2 felt reaaally lackluster for me, so I was thinking I'd try the DLC, but if they haven't fixed the FPS issues I'm not touching it, sadly. Oh well.
