Really fun DLC. It love the aesthetic, the level design, the level mechanics and difficult base enemies. On top of that it has some really funny stuff. A lot of trolly enemies, invaders and otherwise. It also has one of the most beautiful looking bosses in the game and a final fight worthy of a final boss. Imo he is the true final boss of all DS2 in a worthy arena (although he is obviously rage inducing, I got a old MMO vibe with him, like trying to kill Ragnaros a dozen times before finally doing it). Biggest downside for me is there aren't any new weapons i care for. Sure they look cool but not good enough to use. Overall the DLCs are well worth the price when you put them together. DS2 as a whole is pretty immense now.

Overall I really liked the bosses in the second DLC a lot, but this third one is the best all-around for sure. It felt the most fun and well-balanced with regards to enemy types and strengths, and the final boss was not only unique but truly a spectacle and "epic" (actually applicable, despite not caring for that term). However I will say that it's a good thing the optional boss/section is OPTIONAL. Because it might be the most annoying/difficult "corpse run" I can remember in the whole game (or series lol).

I def agree it is the worst corpse run I can think of in a souls game. It's the first time I've felt a NPC summon was basically necessary to make the corpse run into the boss viable. That is one boss NPC summon too.

I think the same, except I have a weapon I like in the DLC3, the greatsword tha tscales with how many NG+ you made, as I'm in NG+9 :D The game is so hard, bosses have so much life that the fights are like 20-30mn long (the DLC bosses I mean, base game still go down quickly they scale a lot slower)

I got a question of my own; can you guys reccomend a book that has the same or similar vibe/atmosphere as Dark Souls? It should also be set in a medieval style period. In my opinion Dark Souls universe is right there next to the great universes of Tolkien or Star Wars (old movies) for its originiallity and uniqueness (is that a word?). DS2 didnt catch the feel of the DS universe for me however. What I really liked in DS1 is how every NPC you talk to has a lot of echo effect in their voice and it makes that seem so distant and resigned. Like every character is traped in a universe of their own. I dont know why DS2 left this out. Also the world design is much much better in DS1. And the fact that you are a lifeless (more like soulless) corpse running around is an incredible perspective. Overall for me the DS universe trumps every other universe imagined so far.

Feeva and Vengarl became two of my best friends after that "optional" ordeal.

I should have played this earlier, so much fun. Luckily there are plenty of people still playing a new game along with me.

It was either that or the game gave up after smelter demon. I'm going to predict that you either forgot about or have not yet visited Shrine of Amana. I despise that place. Watching new Dark Souls players is bizarrely entertaining on multiple levels, particularly for spectators who have already beaten the game because they're in a position to offer advice and chuckle to themselves when the newbie reaches impending death zones.
