Your early points are valuable, I'd use them for combat first. The game is not that hard (on normal difficulty :D; I plan to play on hard for my next playthrough). I put two points into blacksmithing with Jahan and he has 5 in total now and I put 2 points into crafting with my mage and she has 4 in total now (lvl 9 characters). Both mages have their two main spellcasting skills at lvl 3 and nothing else much to raise except maybe bodybuilding or willpower. Only spellcasting school I don't cover is Witchcraft. Crafting on the other hand gives me better armor and weapons and food and some other miscellaneous magic items I could not find to buy like rings and belts.

I totally misskilled my rogue when starting (well, i didn't take useless stuff, but i took some of it too early and didn't have other moves/skills that you should have from the start). Now that I got all the "must haves" it feels like godmode. Lvl 7... Fireskelletons North of the first town... 2 Hits with my Bow (ive got 1 Point in Bow...). "Boss" in Black Coves? Dead on second turn... Because my Rogue was not in Position during turn 1. Next turn he was buffed up and behind him... 2-3 attacks and he was gone. lvl 8... King Baccus... Adds? After my Rogue is in Position = 1 round. Baccus himself? 2 Rounds of hits + A bit of DMG from summons. The mages in my Party now feel like Summon and Buffbots... Their DMG is just laughable (aside from big AE), my Rogue looks at things and they fall over. I didn't even "min/max" because i had no clue when i was creating my char... I seriously hope this game gets harder again...

The most difficult thing is some puzzle you do for the first time.

having played too many games that spoonfeed you. just click 'next' or 'okay' when the quest text comes up. Just following a big arrow on the screen to your next destination. Kinda fits in to the theme of the game too. It's pretty much a journey of self-discovery, of your past lives etc. playing this game is pretty much that. got to self discover how to do a lot of things.

It's quite silly actually. For example, + Show Spoiler + The three locations that Aureus talks about (lighthouse, church, (i forget)) all have mobs that are differently leveled (level 5, 8, (i forget) respectively), which is not hinted at all. It kind of feels like an artificial way of herding the player into doing specific things first, but its a 4th wall kind of method

I had begun thinking that maybe I was getting too old to enjoy games, but really, games nowadays are just garbage compared to the old ones.

And only reason it feels like you are restricted is because you can even see their level. In Baldur's Gate you could not but some maps would also murder you if you go there too early.

So you would either face a Vampire or, if your high Level, a Lich instead. Baldur's Gate 2, but not BG1. Also the encounters didn't go below some level, they were only scaled up so they are still somewhat challenging.

The worst thing is she moves like a snail ㅠㅠ I want my friend to hurry up and start co op so I can make a new character. Haven't thought much about it but maybe a Madora character with fire magic/rogue for the haste. Make it a fucking wrecking ball.
