Duncan/Pop going for their 5th (and potentially going out on top like Ray Lewis?). Another team with size for the Heat to take on. Parkers ascension to god-hood. Going to be good. A lot of great story lines after the finals as well. Actually there are only 2 story lines. Either LeBron is a God that has won every trophy/award in the last 2 years or he is a huge choke artist that has only won 1 finals out of 4. A lot on the line for LBJ.

Not that it totally changes the conversation, but only the most fanatic of Lebron haters hold that Cavs/Spurs series against him. He was still very young, and had already done some amazing shit just to carry his team to that finals in the first place.

Miami really clamped down on perimeter D tonight and the Pacers lacked penetration to at least try put a dent in the Heat's D. Obv a lot of it has to do with the gameplan the Pacers have in place, but they were too static in their ball movement and really had no penetration. They were playing inside-out and seemed to have no plan B when the Heat just swarmed them with the smaller lineup. It was a beautiful exhibition of team defence but the Pacer were made to look laborious and slow on offence. Not sure if this really has anything to do with Hill but they could've used a some better dribble penetration to work a few holes into that Miami D. I think they got too overconfident with their front court advantage and couldn't adjust when Miami's D was nullifying it with their blitzy, swarming style of D.

I'm not sure they need any roster changes besides deepening their bench. It's a very young team and they went against a very experienced team. I think they just need more experience and more styles/layers for their offense and defense. Not to change the main stuff they do, but just to be able to throw a few different looks out there occasionally.

But this team isn't going anywhere. They will resign West, get Granger back next year and PG/Lance/Hill/Hibbert will all have more experience and more growth. I am sad tonight, but happy for the future of this team.

You should be. Pacers are awesome and I love watching them. EDIT: This Pacers team is awesome. All other Pacers teams can suck it.

Like I said earlier today, I was 10 in 2000 when they went to the Finals, so that team and the great ones before it, while beloved, it was before I really knew. That 04 team was something, I thought we were gonna win it all that year. Reggie made me a Pacers fan, JO kept me a Pacers fan. But this years team, they are just something else. And I think it starts with Coach Vogel. I'm the same age as PG... What he's done this year, man do I feel unaccomplished. And Hibbert is bringing back the true post game on both ends of the court.

Also Game 1 will be the first time this season that the teams field their best lineups against each other.
