Currently playing a grid-based pvp game called Duelyst and having some decent fun with it.
After playing some meltdown, Shadow Era appears to suffer from power creep pretty hard, which is a shame. It's one of the oldest digital ccg's so you'd think they'd have that smoothed out better. Oh well.
Thanks for the mention of Duelyst, I've been having fun with that one this weekend. Another griv-based pvp game I used to play was Cabals, but aside from a weak-ish F2P model I fear the longevity of the game so I'm not getting too attached =p.

I'm playing this a bit again, game is quite a bit improved client wise from when I played it last in 2014 haha ;d Also playing Duelyst and Spellweaver, but I think Hex is my favorite of the 3.
Anyone else playing? My in-game id is AEgishjalmur.

The new set was released, along with a new sealed format that looks really cool. So I'll probably pick the game back up today.

Btw any interest in a TL skype group for Hex?
I'm playing an Evo gauntlet at the moment, and after my 3rd win I'm now faced with a much tougher choice of whether to change things or not.
This is what I played to start with (more or less): http://puu.sh/oysJi/f2e12a8ef4.jpg
This is my pool after the 2 additional packs: http://puu.sh/oysLV/5e7cb7faee.jpg http://puu.sh/oysN7/db90a04888.jpg http://puu.sh/oysOb/e1a1a77841.jpg http://puu.sh/oysOV/e2a4ae3b3a.jpg http://puu.sh/oysPi/e1915ada7c.jpg
After the first 2 packs, Diamond/Ruby aggro seemed to be the best choice, and the 3rd pack mostly reinforced that... However the 4th pack has me in doubt.
It seems to me like going into sapphire/diamond or diamond/wild would both be quite viable options. Diamond/wild would let me activate both my songbird and nature's child (initially I had almost no lifegain options except in blood, which while it has some good cards here, doesn't seem to have enough to be in consideration), while sapphire/diamond would just have an incredible amount of fliers...
What do you think, would you stay in diamond/ruby (the deck has been working really well so far) or are the new options enticing enough to change?
Really like this new evolving gauntlet format, less overwhelming and less time intensive.

With that list I'm going Diamond/Ruby good removal/combat tricks and can put forth an quick clock.

I would probably go ruby/sapphire there but diamond/ruby looks fine too.
For diamond ruby, take cheery songbird out because it sucks without lifegain. Put blade flourish in.
I am at school right now so I can't go on skype.
edit: nevermind I just saw you have 2 pyresoul summoners. Diamond/ruby is your best option, no questions

Any TLers playing hex feel free to add me IGN: ShloobeR
if you want commons or uncommons for your deck feel free to hit me up and I will try to send you what you need. I'm a pretty compulsive drafter so I have waaaay too many commons.
Set 4 is looking pretty good! Evo Gauntlet seems a lot of fun so far. (Though I feel it's a little less EV than Sealed Gauntlet/draft)

I'd probably run Ruby/Diamond (I was considering Ruby/Sapphire Bombus but your sapphire is just a little bit short)
- I'd totally add Force of the Tomb instead of Volley of Arrows - Definitely want to get that staggering blast in there, maybe remove an ashwood soloist as you're not ramping up to anything particularly important - And probably Neophyte awakener instead of Wardancer
(Summary : +Neophyte, +Staggering Blast, +Force of the Tomb, - Volley of Arrows, -Soloist, -Wardancer)
Force of the Tomb with Deadeye Ripper has already done work in a lot of games for me Even if you don't get one of your necrotics out, 2 1/1 flyers for 4 isn't the worst thing in the world in an aggro deck (especially when you're running woolvirs/big removal).
I'd be pretty happy with that deck, run Bryson and you'll almost certainly get free use of your charge power (which, if you can combo with seeing red will blow games out)
Ashwood blademaster is an auto-include in any deck, you would have to pull something pretty tasty in other shards to want to go away from double blademasters)

Yeah, Force of the Tomb+ripper or spiritbound spy have been money for me as well. But only 2 necrotic this time and one very high up.. Neophyte awakener makes sense to add with that in mind.
It's at 1-2 atm, though I did get super shardscrewed one game and super flooded the other so it isn't the best indicator.
I like all your changes, I thought wardancer might be an include just to curve out and for being an elf but she's really pretty bad heh.
New pack added: Airvolution Cloudspeaker Pious paladin (this seems like it might make it in even though I have a ton of 2 drops...) Prairie trapper
Expert bladecrafter Skarnbreath
Azurefang decree Cavern creeper cloudwalk hatchery malvoker Wrenlocke's apprentice
Artisanal cheesesmythe Lyrical chanter Treetop guardian Storm dancer
Death chant
Wrenlocke's doesn't seem bad with how many actions I have but sapphire feels a little scattered?
Gonna go grab dinner and think about what else to change.

Bit worse if you have a high winrate indeed: https://www.reddit.com/r/hextcg/comments/4gvv3q/some_napkin_math_comparing_the_value_of_evolving/
I saw a few people saying Evo Gauntlet was good value, and some others saying that it was good value as an "introduction" to sealed, but that it's better value to play regular sealed...so I decided to do some quick math. Assumptions: 1) All packs won are sold for 167p on the AH 2) All entry fees are paid for by submitting your own packs (bought for 167p from the AH) + the entry fee 3) the 3 "common & uncommon" packs are each worth opening a 1/4 pack? 4) Since you can't go infinite in either format, the comparison will be made based on how much platinum was spent for each "opened" pack. So, Here's how my numbers broke down based on number of wins you achieve in (regular|evo) cost-per-pack opened format [lower is better]: Win 0, (200.33|157.82) Win 1, (172.5 |115.73) Win 2, (144.67|115.73) Win 3, (116.83| 91.37) Win 4, (89 | 91.37) Win 5, (33.33 | 56.21) So, the Evo gauntlet is a more cost effective way to open packs until you get to 4 wins, at 4 wins they are more or less the same, and at 5 wins (because of the bonus pack) the conventional gauntlet is more cost effective. Hopefully this helps you decide what to play! Edit: valuing the 3 "common and uncommon" packs as 0 opened packs instead of 3/4 of an opened pack, the values are (200|217)(172|145)(145|145)(116|108)(89|108)(33|66). However, I don't think it's fair to count them as 0 since they do have some value.
And the bigger your collection, I guess the less value the free uncommon/common cards will have as well. I like it for now while getting my feet wet.

Yeh you might just have enough in Sapphire now to go for Ruby/Sapphire and play the Malvoker+Wrenlocke's
But I agree, your sapphire is all over the place and I think your deck would be stretched thin. I tried building a ruby/sapphire deck with what you had and I think it would be playable with Bombus but you'd be super light on troops. Not necessarily a bad thing with that archetype I guess but I could easily see that deck getting someone down to like 5hp and then fizzling out
Pious Paladin is a good include, I would be tempted to switch out a pride's fall for that skarnbreath (I'm always nervous about having too many pride's falls! They're either amazing or dead in hand, unfortunately it's basic ). If you want to play it safe I'd just add in a couple of the good diamond cards (paladin + maybe airvolution)
Edit: I'd definitely be up for a skype group, ID: iamshmoj

Went out to a really insane coyotle deck that was somehow 1-2 o_o I have no idea how that monstrous thing lost 2 games...
I think something was wrong with the deck I built, it seemed like it should be so aggressive yet 2 out of the 4 games I ended up outnumbered by much less aggro decks, so pretty sure I needed more troops somehow. Maybe a bit of bad drawing too but I think I had too many actions in there.

if you are looking to increase your card pool without spending much or any, now is the time to play. if you win you get an alternate art card which you can sell for a lot of platinum (somewhere between 1000 and 2000 depending on when you sell it)

Thoughts on going blood/ruby with Yotul here, a looot of non-combat damage available.. (gallow ghasts with the sapphire mill gem would be hilarious though).

blood generally sucks. with a slightly better pool i'd recommend spiders, but here I would recommend ruby/sapphire.
don't underestimate what one or 2 spiders can do in limited. think about seeing red on a spider
