Anyone played this? It feels like a combo of heroes of might and magic and civ. Pretty fun game, if you liked Civ 5 BNW and are okay with a fantasy setting the lore is nice, the map is attractive, the combat is is fun vs humans and exploit-riddled against ai like every other game and the ai in general...well i dont know, sometimes it seems competent and sometimes it doenst
the civs:
if you played Venice in Civ 5, this is evil venice:
This is not elves elves who have Civ 5's Longbowmen.
Not Zergs.
Robot-Vampires.
Not Protoss
Fantasy Arabs, but instead of camels they ride giant bugs
Bought it a long time ago because I'm a huge fan of Endless Space, just started playing it recently. I've only played the tutorial and played around ingame a bit, haven't delved into it seriously yet.
I can't really say much except it looks fantastic. The UI is just amazing, some of the best I've ever seen in a 4X. I'll come back when I have more to say
Yep, game is really good! Been fully addicted to it- pretty much took the Civ formula and improved it in every way. I was actually really skeptical after having put off trying Endless Space after seeing reviews about how it lacked depth, and Early Access initially put me off, but this one is legit. May have to go try Space next.
The combat in this one I just choose a stance and spectate instead of exploiting the AI. I get my fill of tactical battles in AoW3 multiplayer.
Thought it might be too easy at first, but am finding a good challenge at Impossible/Endless.
I have not tried this game yet (but it is on my future wishlist), but I can recommend Endless Space. Yes, it is a bit simplified (no more than Sword of the Stars) but it is still a very good space 4x game. And has one of the best combat modules.
This game is half off for the next 18 hours. I bought it last night and have put 10 hours in already, damn 4x games...
The combat AI seems really good so I guess they patched that well. I'm rarely finding it worth manually controlling my units in combat because the AI does it so well. Or maybe I just suck.
