(Its why Brood war is the best rts game ever created since it has the highest mechanic ceiling of all rts games). No it does not. One Cloaked Banshee, 5 mutas, 1 DT kill new players. And there are many situations like that one.

what does that even mean? It just sounds like dodging a question with a generic "BUT IT'LL BE FUN" answer while not actually responding to anything. Well, whatever. They're clearly aiming at the casual comp-stomp-with-your-friends crowd, I guess; probably not what most TLers are looking for.

It was an awesome strategy game but unfortuantely petroglyph decided to turn it into a MOBA and then they just decided to cancel it alltogether since turning it into a MOBA killed all the hype and nobody was interested in it anymore. still a damn shame though but glad this one is around. might even pick it up. i was in the beta as well. End of Nations was terrible. it got cancelled because it was a bad game with no chance of being turned into a good game. Most of the people i talked to who were in the "alpha" test in July for Grey Goo hold out little hope for the game.

EoN was turned into a MOBA after they failed with the original idea (i played the beta too). I hope there will be an open beta or atleast a demo for Grey Goo. I will not buy a fullprice game without testing it before.

no in game replays.. the developer will try to support "recordings you produce through external software" http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?s=&showtopic=955409&view=findpost&p=9718397

FPS dives to unacceptable levels during small fights during the devs twitch.tv streams of the game. every indicator shows that Petroglyph or GreyBox or whatever has basically just run out of money and so they are releasing the game. i hope i'm wrong and this is a great RTS game and i have great fun with it. but, all it is .. is hope. i have no reason to believe this is the case. Petroglyph/Grey Box is developing a piece of entertainment software. Therefore, it is competing with every other piece of entertainment software being published, including SC2.

Just one thing to take into consideration, the RTS market feels heavily undersaturated. I already own sc2, and Lotv will probably not be released in January 2015, so to kill some time inbetween, as an RTS fan, I still consider buying it, even though I expect nothing as great as sc2. The lack of a replay functionality is interresting from a programmer standpoint, considering that most RTS games are simultaneous simulations to save bandwith, which gave birth to the replay feature during the AOE area in the first place - do they play on Lan while streaming? Will the network code be as terrible as Planetary annihilation's? Is "balance" not the reason for the 200 supply cap that a spiritual successor to cnc that focuses on fun should not have?

Is it going to be a 60$ game? I have not seen a price announced yet. I for sure will not give them 60$ for the game. I don't expect them to charge more then 40$ for it. As for FPS, the dev said he runs a 4k monitor. We also don't know what his computer is. And I think you have too large expectations. This is not a game to take down Sc2 from its throne, it is just a fun and different RTS for people that like these kind of games. Barely anyone makes RTS today and we should be supportive. From the streams you can see the game is not shit, just don't expect too much from it.

I don't know, i like sc franchise, but i had always had way more fun with games like total annihilation, supreme commander, c&c generals (my favorite RTS ever actually, multiplayer was so much fun for me). Hell i even have had more hours into dark colony than any Starcraft game. Would i come here and say they are better games because they were funnnier to me ? Nope, completely unneeded and uncalled for. I know plenty of people who don't consider SC2 a RTS, mostly because the mechanichs are too demanding for them, so they never truly get to the strategic part of the game, and i can't blame them, they have no interesting on improving their mechanichs because they like to play RTS in a more relaxing fashion. SC2 is not that game. Cheers.

It does not need to be, and it is stupid to attempt to try it. SC2 will be releasing an expansion and they have much more experience in that. here is what they think of single player. @2:44 Grey Goo Reply - "single player is for the most part training you to get ready for the multiplayer" the developers themselves state the primary focus of the game is multiplayer. RTS multiplayer with no replay feature makes the game tough to take seriously. The fact that Incontrol gave the game a reserved/qualified endorsement seems like it might be a good sign. But, this was back when the promised multiplayer-beta was still on schedule. It'd be interesting to know what Mr. Robinson thinks the chances are that multiplayer will be a good experience with no beta test.
