BUT DOUBT THEY CAN DO THAT THOUGH Yup i agree the normal difficulty is low on FF6 but this game is the FF with the most fun challenges the Speedrun, Low Level Game and Perfect Stats games are super fun because FF6 is a game were a lot of mid to end game bosses had a LOT of AI rules for reactions, HP thresholds and final attacks, (i think it's the FF that does it the most) and getting arround those difficulties the game impose is engaging.
Many couldn't experience that though because many players would resort to simply Cactuars grind + Ultima spam or Vanish Doom for SNES, not to mention the dinosaur forest.

Oh, and I think this kinda puts salt in the wound, but Square has a mobile game called MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY, really great 3-d graphics for mobile, anyway, they're doing a collaboration event with Final Fantasy VII Remake.... which is completely MIA from the news and all tradeshows...
Call me delusional, but im hoping for a Video Game Awards trailer tomorrow.

So PS5 it is then. No PSX appearance. Sony and Square will unveil a new console and have FF7 Remake to sell units.

this is probably most likely seeing that xbox came out with an upgraded console, along with the fact FF15 came out around the same time the launch of PS4 PRO came out. (which i happened to buy both of around christmas time last year)

The Microsoft Scorpio happened.

you could say that, but tech industries have been aggressively pushing it. just look at the phone industry, there's a new version of your phone like every 6 months. which also cost 2-3x what a console would cost. i'm guessing it's a bit more difficult for consoles to reach that point but...

If these point towards the future of console gaming - as in, shorter generation life to sell more hardware, rather than to take advantage of important tech advances - then fuck consoles. I barely got any use out of my Wii U before the Switch was launched, and as it is now currently, I don't really have much time to use my PS4 or Xbone either.
For my part, any less than 6 years life for a console is unacceptable. I'd say 5 years, but the first year of a console is always dead in relation to good launches, so the life needs a little more time.

Hopefully it'd also be released for PC if PS5, otherwise I'd probably, and I say this as one of the biggest lovers of FF7 out there, skip the remake.

Yeah, but the phone business is different than the console business. Sony & Microsoft don't make money off the consoles, they make money on the software licensing. Having so many generations out at once would flip that on its head.

- Why would Squall be dead?! what triggered that question? - An unofficial way to have Aerith in your party? is it a new feature for the remake?

There's a glitch to bring her back but you can't leave the very small area. She also doesn't talk etc. And the game ends pretty much there as it is a game breaking glitch.

The theory is that when Edea impales Squall with ice shards at the end of disc 1, he is mortally wounded, and the rest of the game is his comatose imagination going haywire until death.
I mean, it's a pretty far out theory, but then again, things really start spinning off the rails from disc2 and out, storywise. It all being in Squall's mind isnt really any less believable than the compressed time-malarky.

I don't buy that leak based on the accompanying XV leak. No fucking way.

Square Enix will hold a Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition, dubbed the “Farewell Stories Exhibition,” at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo from January 22 to February 28, which will feature a special Final Fantasy VII exhibition that includes never before seen image boards of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The Farewell Stories Exhibition will also feature various other exhibitions that recreate a number of the “farewell stories” depicted in the Final Fantasy series. Square Enix also developed an augmented reality audio system for the exhibition, which links your smartphone with the 150 beacons installed at the venue for the items on display. Doing this will enable you to hear synchronized game background music, character voices, and personalized navigation from the headphones installed at each exhibit by simply standing in front of the beacon.

During a massive New Year group interview published on the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu, Final Fantasy VII Remake Producer Yoshinori Kitase gave a small update on the title.
Kitase-san mentioned that the game’s development is going well. Asked his goal for 2018, he explained that about the remake he’d like to work on “comfort,” also playing on words by mentioning that on a personal level hopes to take it easy (using the same word, “raku” which means “ease” or “comfort”) if possible.
Additionally, Final Fantasy Brand Manager Shinji Hashimoto, also pointed out that this year he is looking forward to E3, and that his goal is to increase the excitement for each game in development among the fans. Keep in mind that he did not specifically talk about the Final Fantasy VII Remake, so interpret it as you will.
We haven’t heard much lately about the game, besides a small update last summer by Tetsuya Nomura, and a few comments on how he works on it and on Kingdom Hearts III at the same time. Back in May, Square Enix brought the development back in-house, after having worked with Cyberconnect2 at the beginning of the project.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake has been officially announced only for PS4 at the moment and does not have a release window.

Do you guys think they'll reveal something this June, the 3rd anniversary of FF7R's announcement?
