If you don't like Open PvP, you'll probably have a few problems with this game. But I can assure you that it's a ton of fun once you stop caring about dying in the open world. Best way to progress if you're not part of a guild is duoing high tier dungeons. There are green dungeons (solo) and blue ones (group). High tier green dungeons (so in Black/Red zone with high tier resources) can be duo'd even on a low level and give realy good fame. Chances of being killed are relatively low. You'll still end up dying sooner or later, though. It's tradition. @Klowney: Biggest differences: - There's practically 0 RNG. (Just item quality, that gives +couple% bonus to item stats). - The combat system is much closer to a MOBA than to traditional ORPGs. - There are many more sieges. The GvGs for territory are "fair" fights of 5v5 or 20v20. Open Castle fights are much closer to what you'd see in Black Desert. - Getting high gear is much easier(mostly due to no RNG), but thats balanced off with a full loot system. Everything regarding crafting/gathering is player-driven, not done by NPCs. At least that I can think of.

Game worth trying again? I actually thought the core concept was awesome. EDIT: I see last wipe is in July, I might just wait until then.

It's hard to know exactly if the games lategame will feel rewarding since the water isn't close to settling.

This evens out over time of course, but right now there's a huge gap between rich and poor players. And then P2W will be pretty much exactly like EVE (aka people spending real money instead of time to get their gear). Which is okay in my book.

Server has been going down a lot due to sheer number of people they didn't anticipate would play the game. The fact that servers are still going down now means that many people are still playing at least.

I guarantee the top players aren't pouring real cash into this. Compared to actually gathering the resources and crafting skills, being able to wear that gear as a walk in the park. The only good thing is that those who are the fastest in leveling are the ones sitting on the resources anyway, so they have little incentive to spend money to get them. They still profited from buying the $100 founder's pack to cash in on the first day, though. And as I said, draining a guild's resources when their members have a ton of gold banked/willing to buy is quite hard. But I'm not trying to raise the point that the system is completely broken. Just that it is not completely free of any issue.

Or does anyone know what their return policy is? Like give the game back after a week or so for full refund

I would love to try the game, but do not want to commit to $30 fee for a game I may not stick with.

I find it perfect for idling a bit while watching TI, collecting resources and crafting in a quiet atmosphere. Overall a nice "cooldown/afk grind" game, and I needed one. Also, as for how to get into the game, I feel the destiny board is actually a very good thing to show what you can do in the game. It doesn't involve expeditions etc. but it can help get into crafting or even seeing an overview of what the different "classes" are.

And seems like a game that needs a decent guild to enjoy, which is a bit of worry going in solo. Never know how that's going to work out. I would attempt a trial immediately, but can't commit beyond that. Hopefully they do a free weekend at some point, or something along those lines .
