I'm surprised Microsoft is going for a second Halo Wars, to be honest. Ensemble Studios did what they could with the first game, but playing a RTS with a controler just isn't all that fun. On top of that the xbox360 could barely handle the game. | ||

i like how Alistair refuses to promise stuff. Creative Assembly has done some good stuff in the past. It'll be hard to top HW1 and what Ensemble Studios did more than 5 years ago. | ||

For players accustomed to the XBOX controller the control scheme was efficient and effective. Most XBOX fans liked the controls. Its no surprise PC players think it was crap. It appears the game is moving in the right direction and CA is reacting to player feedback. + Show Spoiler + CA has been around a long time and they've made lots of RTS games. Even if I end up not liking HW2 I hope it succeeds so that Blizzard can raid CA for itts best employees and put them on the SC team. | ||

There was a small dedicated community around the FPS for years. Blizzard stuck with Starcraft:Ghost for 5 years. also, obligatory "this guy playing is a complete rts noob," maybe i have been watching too many flash and effort/hero fpvods but this guy literally has 2 apm and he's either moving the screen with arrow keys or playing on a controller.. cmon, there has to be at least one good player to present the game... and by good i mean they could hire a d- peruvian that sets lat to extra high when mutas come out to do a better job | ||

On a pessimistic note... Studios tend to prioritize their own IP over someone who is handing them money to rent their time. Gearbox is the most extreme example of this. As a lone wolf developer i do the same thing. I treat my 1 piece of shrink-wrapped-boxed-software product like its my only son. | ||
