All right I finally decided to make this thread, as I purchased the bundle just now from my local shop.
This game has gotten pretty popular worldwide, for almost a month since it was released, with very high ratings from gaming sites. ANYONE can make their own levels, and the replay value based on the user created levels is almost infinite. With Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros U maps and visuals being available to play and create, this game seems like it will have a lot of hype for a while. I can imagine future Mario games will be made for purchase or download from other Mario visuals and maps (e.g. Super Mario 2, Mario 3D, Yoshi's Island), based on how successful this game has become.
So if anyone wants to acknowledge how cool of a game this is, share levels they made or levels worthy to be played or seen, level creating tips, vent from how challenging a level was or how bad a level was from stupidly trolling things (e.g. hidden blocks that force you to restart), point out any streamers or level makers that deserve a shout, or anything else related to this game... now's the time!
Even things like Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Windwaker and Bayonetta are games that makes the WiiU worth the price if you happen to like more than 3 of them.
So no, you don't have to buy a WiiU just for Mario Maker.

I never said the system had no other games...but until this one, it never even cross my mind to get anything on it....geez.
My point still stands. And nope, from that list I would play MK but that is available on other systems and splatoon although it looks cool I haven't played it or feel the need to, let alone buying a system around it.
Thanks for your much valid and unrequested response to my post...lets get back to the game and don't derail this thread.
This might be a very silly question, but what are the chances / probability of getting an official PC port version or something similar? I would love to play this, but haven't had a Nintendo machine since my Gameboy Color and NES (which I play on today still)

None most likely, hence my comment about the sadness that one would have to buy a wiiU just for this

There has never been any "official" Mario game that has gone to PC as far as I know. The only way you would see it is unofficially via emulators and ROMs, and I don't see that happening for Wii U games anytime soon or if ever for a variety of reasons.
If you're itching to play it and have the $, just buy it. I haven't touched it much cuz of IRL reasons and cuz i suck at the game right now, but there will be at least 3-4 other titles I'm waiting for to justify the cost of spending about $350 CAD purchasing it... plus the fact it's backwards compatible for a lot of Wii games I want to revisit (Twilight Princess) and others I haven't had a chance to play yet

I know I'm replying to a year-old comment, but I played Mario is Missing on my PC way back
