1.5 day wait later i got a copy/pasted GM response about the droprate of the pantheon trinkets. Didn't even read what i wrote after i went into a lot of detail
WTF happened to customer support? I had a lot of great experiences in classic through cataclysm and then returning post-MOP it's just been trash. I used to wait half an hour, sometimes even 2 hours and then talk to an actual human, not send tickets back and forth for a week before they say that the game was intentionally broken or that they don't have the authority to fix it even though it was a bug. My experiences have always been fantastic. Back when I started in Vanilla I was still playing on EU from Pakistan and despite it being near impossible to use a local credit card Blizzard accommodated me. Every ticket I have ever opened has been responded to promptly and ive never been unsatisfied with the. Have you used their services recently?
Uhh yeah for changing my account status to CA from NA to start legion. WHen I played EU I was in the US and my address and CC were tied to the US. From legion I needed to move all of that to CA and they did it in like an hour of me emailing them.
Not sure if that falls in the realm of recent. I deleted a couple of things around NH and that was pretty straightforward aswell. More so than back in the day.

They've always been quick and helpful for payment issues, with gameplay problems i just seem to get GM's after a 2 day wait that don't play or understand the game on a basic level

Definitely alpha and anything can change, but obvious change I see atm is MW mastery. My mastery heals for 5k with the stat squish. My normal heals heal for 800-1000. I have 14k hp. My mastery crit is a full heal, on every target heal I have.
You mean effuse heals for 1k while mastery heals for 5k? That would mean mastery does like 5 times as much as now which is just broken. How much does EnvM then in comparison?
Just to follow up on this post, I have played more and done some of the dungeons. I can now attest that our mastery is likely not broken atm, as we need the healing it provides to keep up with dungeons atm. I realize this will change likely a lot over alpha as they tune more numbers, but atm if I did not have this large heal I would not be a healer.
In dungeons we are scaled to 162 ilevel so my main heals do about 600-900, and my mastery does 4k per targeted heal on target. In some areas of the dungeon its not unlikely to accidently grab a second pack and the prot pally tank was getting hit for 30-40% of his life per swing from the group of mobs (or special abilities like in Freehold with a poison that stacks to do 5k damage per 3 seconds to a tank with only 16k life). My normal heals would not suffice for this, but I expect things to change as it goes to make more sense, because otherwise we will just stack mastery for along time.
As a side note, this might give people a better idea on where we will land for ilevel. In dungeons we have the buff on our buff bar for no durability loss. It states we are scaled to 835, but our items show 162. Also in SW/Org there is lego vendor and all legos are 280 ilevel (down from 1k). As long as the system is somewhat linear between these numbers, most people out of legion will be in the 230-260 range for ilevel. Premade chars start at 185. Any of this might change, but it looks to be somewhat reasonable for what info we have atm.

It is still nonsense in relation to the other stuff. Honestly these numbers are just so silly it is not even worth thinking about it, will all be changed anyway.

The Leg RNG is kinda annoying lol. I got lucky with my 1st Leg being a good one but the next 4 are basically all just niche or shit.

Yeah, at least you can get 3 per week now

I can't believe I'm actually considering coming back to prep for the upcoming expansion, but I'll admit that I'm intrigued by the state of the game and what's to come. Anyone got a strong feeling one way or the other?

I think game is alright, but as always I would say that you will generally enjoy the game more if you have people to play with. Logging in and playing the game alone will probably not be a thing that keeps you around.
BFA is stated to be very cosmetic focused, and so far it looks good. There are a lot of new assets and the new areas look and feel great.
And to be honest, I don't think there is much to prepare for outside of possibly looking for a guild atm. Any gear related things you can probably do in under 1 week of getting the game before the expansion launches.
|
Is there anything gear related to even do? Just some rep grinds if you want to play allied races but other then that finding people to play with seems to be the best prep.
I am still just trying to decently gear my 2 chars while looking for a guild. Tho my server seems kinda....dead.

The most important thing when making a new character is chosing the right server anyway. Provided you are not ready to pay for server transfer at any time. Lots of servers are having population issues while serious raiders focus on a few servers.
This is also why I always save my level boost until the expansion starts or even longer. This way I can change server and class if I need to.

Yea its unfortunate as a returning player to see your server in such a state.

Tricky 'cause i migrated to one of the super servers last expansion and it's been broken for most of legion because of the high pop, the hardware just can't keep up with raid night traffic. We probably only have a fraction of the initial expansion playerbase spike and it's still so bad that my last guild had to drop several players to move one of the main raid days off of reset day after a few months of constant problems in Antorus.

So my guild just managed to wipe at Kingaroth at 400k life. :D That is 0.003 %. Just one more hit from a healer.
One of our DD had a dc for the last minute.

Argus the Unmaker Sweeping Scythe hits you for 8.349.967 ( 88.325.673 Absorbed ) ( 1.867.390 Overkill )
One little fun line from our first night on Argus Mythic.
Being a monk tank on that fight is kinda fun.

That's rough man. We had a 0.8% wipe and that was demoralising enough already lol.
Finally killed him this Thursday after ~130 wipes or so, got 3 hours of progress on Vari last night and that fight is thankfully much easier. Should be a kill on Tuesday.
I've been informed Mythic Aggramar requires 2 blood DKs, and I'm one of the only 2 (frost) DKs in the guild, fun times ahead ..

Was just super funny how 1 wl almost solo killed him by fighting him alone for almost 30 sec. We were all talking about the next try and then the wl was like "erm guys I am still alive here, I got this". And then boss went into construction phase at 400k life and it was over lol. Honestly I think you could kill many bosses without any healers by only having warlocks, it is ridiculous.
Btw 130 trys sounds super harsh considering these are not fast wipes mostly. We did not need as much thankfully.

Fix when? :D this kind of thing is not the difficulty that makes any boss fun, it just screws over everyone. Why should there be - literally - 20 blood DK's for every Prot war, Prot pala or Veng? Are people expected to have one of every class geared up to a mythic progress level to be able to clear the raid for whatever bullshit requirement they put in with roars or grips on that one particular boss? If yes then why; if not then why hasn't it been changed as soon as the problem became apparent with real player testing?
This is just WTF for me, i can't imagine why they would do this again and then leave it that way as more than a thousand guilds hit Aggramar.
For my guild vari took as long as kingaroth but coven died in an hour, i left them on the start of vari progress

Well, as far as tanks go, kind of yes. Since you at most have 3 tanks in a guild its somewhat standard that they play multiple classes. Tank isnt as hard to keep up with as dds anyway, they dont require as much gear and no special must have trinkets, as well as being easier to play in raid. I know a lot of tanks that play 4 and more classes and they are not in top 50 guilds..

Tanking is the big issue with WoW and always will be. It is ALWAYS fotm on which tank is best and it isn't like it is 100k dps more like in some fotm dps classes, it is a huge variance and a MUST if you want to kill x boss or complete the raid. Whilst this is only a problem for mythic raiding it still sucks alot of fun out of the game.
High level mythic plus? Come with anything other than a DK and you are going to have a bad time it seems.
In a personal case, warriors should ALWAYS be the best tanks because they are warriors :3 screw everyone else!

EVERY tank though? I think that's ridiculous to expect someone to have 6 chars ready to go for mythic progress, 1 baseline and maybe 2 is more reasonable
talking like top 500-1000 level not top 50
