I know its not that unlucky, but kinda is bleh to see people get lots of them (guy got 3 in one summon) and yet I only see 5 3* or still not even 1 5*
same thing here, all I got is a 5 Star Fae :/

For every one guy with 3 5* in a session, there are thousands of dudes like you :D. At least they're honest in this game and tell you the odds of pulling. No surprise there.

Takumi is fantastic. He destroys story mode and he is pretty good in arena too. Only outclassed by a few units like Hector, linde, kagerou, and Lucina when it comes to big dmg
Ephraim is pretty bad Eirika is only good in specific comps (nino and other buff teams) Silphe (FE4 sword guy) is bad Julia is good but I think she is outclassed by Hector and nino. But if you get her, she is not bad at all. She also hard counters nowi, tiki, linde, and Robin.
Didn't know we had a FEheroes thread here. TIL I'm still so salty my 2nd 5 star was a Camila.

Honestly, I think the 5 stars should be rarer since they are THE top of the line. That being said they can't really progress much afterward (although I am sure they will add 6 stars eventually). In return, they should make upgrading from 4 star to 5 star more easily but that is just my opinion. The game is also really hard without 5 stars for some reason (might just be me) when you are playing on a stage that your character are suppose to be the right level for.
Very underwhelmed by this event. Time to bank 100 gem and wait for a more worth while event.

Doesn't say that much imo + Show Spoiler +
I got Julia and she is wrecking face so far. Also finding that Marth is frustratingly just worse than Lucina in like every aspect. Really have to abuse the AI to beat her in arena :\ or use 4* Sharena with buffs

Nah it's not just you. The final stages of Lunatic are incredibly hard, even with a fully leveled 5* team. Narcian event hard mode was tough too.
And as of this season, Arena is getting increasingly difficult too. I'm struggling to have 2+ survivors on Intermediate because the enemy team comps are getting increasingly tryhard.

Any thoughts from here on Effie vs Olivia vs Nowi as to which might be the best choice? My experience vs armored units is that they will not win you many defences. The AI rushes forward from turn 1 so it results in 4v3 followed by 4v1. This is also the reason why I question Hector's SS tier but I guess he gets it all from offense. Also I have young Tiki who absolutely murders him. So I'd pick one of the latter 2.
I ended up going with Nowi and adding her to my team just allowed me to break a 4400 score (one death during the run): + Show Spoiler +
Beyond the recommendation, part of why I went with her is that my Effie's IV nature wasn't that great. Also turns out I've actually had pretty bad luck with most of my natures with almost all of my "good offense characters" being -ATK (including my Lucina that is -ATK, +HP that is likely the worst stat variance she can have imo). The stat variance is quite frustrating as it means not only do you have low odds of getting a 5-star unit but you also need the right version of that particular 5-star unit to be most effective.
Overall... I've spent some money since I did find the game enjoyable but am at the limit for what I want to put into it. I'll continue to enjoy it during my commutes but the game really is "pay to win" for its competitive scene that just stinks. There are many people who have put the money in to have merged their 5-star units ten times each for +20 to each of their stats. That puts them into a higher arena tier than those with just un-merged 5-star units can reach and those people thus earn more points for each win in arena that ensures a top ranking. No amount of skill, planning, or team composition can beat the fact one is earning less points for each arena victory. Them having stronger units should be reward enough for the very large amount of money they spent over just outright allowing them to buy the top ranked positions.
So for anyone following this thread worried about lacking "top tier" units: don't sweat it. Unless you spend thousands, it is impossible to crack the very top of the ladder, and thus it is best to just aim for being ranked at all. No sense in doing what I did and spending money to get a good base of characters since it doesn't open anything else up like a healthy competitive scene. Otherwise, the game is polished and well suited to mobile, so just enjoy it and see it as a personal challenge to beat stronger units with less ideal ones imo.

I got a -SPD, +DEF Linde .

Whoa whoa whoa, how do you know what your characters' IVs are?
Also I got 5* Julia from my most recent summon and she does SO MUCH damage, she has like 45 atk at level 27. I was kinda bummed when I got her since I was hoping for one of the other twins (Sacred Stones being a game I actually played), but I can't complain.

There are a couple IV calculators floating around, you can just google it.

Picture guide on how the IV's work in Fire Emblem Heroes: http://imgur.com/a/dpovR . Essentially each 5 star character will end up with one +3 stat and one -3 stat at level 40.
To determine IV's, use the calculator from: https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/fire-emblem-heroes-iv-calculator Some of the values are off since they include buffs in a unit's kit at times. However, once you input the level 1 stats that do match up, you should still be able to tell which stat was low/high and by process of elimination know the other since all the other stats should match up.
In the case you don't have a level 1 five star character, you need to wait until around level 40, and then play around with the starting values to see what the IV was of that unit. If you have a 4-star character, there are some of those in there, but the best way to tell their IV to go to the upgrade screen with them since that will show what five star level one stats their unlocked potential will give that can then be used in the calculator. (Units keep their same stat tendencies when they are upgraded).
Alternatively, if you have multiple of a 4-star unit, you can figure out the baseline from comparing two units against each other (assuming they aren't the same IV).
Does that all make sense?

Yes.
So if I upgrade a 4* to a 5*, do the IVs reset? What about when you combine them? Or has nobody figured that out yet?

A. They don't reset. B. When you combine them, your one you choose to keep stays with their IV but gains +2 overall bonus stats from the merge. For a level 40 unit, this would be level 40+1 and they would have two more total stat points than a normal level 40 unit. Also I believe if you use a level 40 and merge it with a level 40+x (like 40+4), the end unit becomes a 40+5 unit with that base units IV rather than the discarded 40+4 unit's IV.
