CEVO and MLG have partnered up to host the CEVO-Professional Season 9 League, with $125,000 on the line at the offline finals which will take place in London. With no notable EU contestants and a hoarde of egotistic NA teams, NA could actually take this season home to the states.

TL vs optic starting in 15 mins~
|
Wow, Liquid's T side on Train is horrendous. They were winning 15-4 and Optic has brought it back to 15-13. Yikes, this is on GBJames. I have been saying he needs to be fired. This is unacceptable that Liquid is struggling against a tier 2 NA team.
|
Optic just tied it up 15-15. Holy crud. I saw no smoke play or any strategy from Liquid. What's the point of having GBJames as a coach if he isn't going to design any strategy for the team? He brings nothing to the team. He needs to be booted from the team. I hope TL fires him asap.
|
It's now 17-15 in favor of Optic. Liquid is just rushing bomb sites. Mostly fast executes. I hope Liquid isn't paying GBJames. This is just awful of epic proportions.
|
Yeah the T side is pretty bad. Seems like they have only a few plays. That auto is wrecking them.
|
Liquid just lost 19-17. Wow, Liquid had the lead at 15-4. It was a choke and I feel like GBJames as a coach failed the team when it came to designing executes and strats. Anyone else believe that he should be fired? I feel like he is just taking a paycheck and not doing anything.
|
This third map is hard to watch. Considering how it started. Simple is crazy tho.

I feel like he is just taking a paycheck and not doing anything. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, some people I like have been critical of him before but I don't know if they're right about this, and also let's not pretend like the players don't have any responsibility here. Coaches often take the bullet for bad performances in sports and sometimes it's complete bullshit.
Nonetheless TL is so stacked with talent in comparison to Optic, something is clearly going horribly wrong. There's a good chance they'll lose this Bo3 to Optic (although s1mple just did an insane nutty play on round 23). Part of it is weak in game leading. But yeah you're not supposed to lose against a team of frankly weak individual players.
|
Liquid just lost overpass 16-12. Holy crap. GbJames is just enjoying his paychecks and not doing anything for the team. What's the point of having a super team when your coach has no set strats and executes. Liquid is just pugging and that falls on the coach. He needs to be fired.
|
Optic is a tier 2 NA team. Liquid is suppose to be the best team in NA and compete on the world stage. It is unacceptable that Liquid just lost the series. How can such a talented team lose like this. Gbjames is a horrible coach that needs to be fired. He is just getting a paycheck to hype up the team. I can do that for free. Please fire him. Also please boot the analyst KJ. What are they doing? They are getting paid to sit around and do nothing...
|
I dont think its on GBJames if hes not even calling for the team. Blame the igl (who i believe to be nitro?).
|
On a different note, today Ence is gonna fucking rek Penta

Something along the line "carry harder or kick".

You can put as much talent as you want in your squad, you need to forge a team to win.
I just feel like Na becomes more and more the premiere league of Counterstrike: Normally you give your best to earn the most (by either getting better contracts with better teams) or earn more by extra money your team gives you for good results. But once you are in an Na Team or a PL Team, you allready get more money then ever before even with medicore performance. Maybe outside teams like Leicester City, where you can hope as a player to get a large income boost by getting good results or getting picked up by a Manchaster or London based team can hit really hard, as their talents are forged to a real team. Most others are just a talent pool playing togeather without any personal goals. Much like Na, where you dont have the big personal thrive for more money due to results or a better team, you already get the money just thanks to the team you are in.
So the question is more, who is NAs Leicester City? Splice? Optic? TS?

Oh cmon, the Premier League is overall still the strongest league, they just suck internationally but on average matches are a lot harder. #16 in the league can pose a threat to #2 or #1 if you slip up.
NA is the goddamn MLS where they import people to try and look good.

Penta really likes their double awp on CT, what the hell.

9 rounds gone and Penta has been reset thrice. Looking good so far :D
|
Ahahahaha. Penta takes a timeout and after that stacks 4 guys on A side of the map (overpass). Ence rushes b. :DDDDDD
|
Hmm, that was way closer than it shouldve been. Stonde and Sunny quite on point
|
Penta is just like NA in this league vs ence. No chance :DD

Thats because #1 and #2 are also not very good. Just because everyone is lumped together in mediocrity doesnt mean a stronger league. It just means its a more competitive league, which is ofcourse entertaining in its own right, but being harder by virtue of everyone being a similar level is hardly a case for strength.
MLS is competitive to btw, its still mediocre.
+ Show Spoiler +Its kinda fact that PL has been behind for the last 5 or so years. Mid to late 2000's it was easily the best. Now it survives on marketing itself as such. . Top teams in other big leagues will lose to if they "slip up". They just dont, because they are that good. Not because the #16 there is weaker than the #16 in England. And that translates heavily to Europe.
Top tier EU teams in CS are way ahead of everyone else in Europe. Whereas the supposedly Top NA teams while better arent head and shoulders above the rest.
Does that mean NA > EU ? Exactly. While I dont completely agree with the original analogy its not because of the "strength" argument. He's kinda right there.

SK just rolled over Selfless, it makes you wonder what these are doing in a LAN. :>

Dignitas disappoints again. Dunno if their close loss vs Tempo broke their spirit but again they sadly underperform :/. they should really have placed top 4 at least in this tournament

The thing with Dig is that they perform against good/great teams (see EnVy, VP, or NiP/Astralis at Malmö etc.) and lose against SK, Tempo, E-Frag... :|

Man if it wasnt for VP i would be so happy favela team no2 is playing so well.
