No 100Thieves at the major.
This is such a shitty situation. Regardless of all the drama, the core 3 were still finalists at the last Major and should have had the opportunity to compete at this event. It only adds this whole list of problems, the Tyloo - Peacemaker argument, Device being ill, Liquid and SK playing with stand-ins (even though this is their own fault) and kind of dampens my overall excitement. Can almost see the one hour rant video Thorin is going to make calling this the worst Major ever.
The matches I watched yesterday weren't particularly entertaining either. EnvyUs looked much worse than the score might show, Faze, NaVi and G2 looked a bit shaky at times. Hopefully there's better games ahead.

Two majors a year is definitely not enough.
If only the qualifiers were more tightly packed, and that we'd get back to three majors a year.
I think two is just the right amount. I can't think of any reasons to make it more than that. It would be very hard on the teams to keep up with such a schedule, it would add to the oversaturation that we're already seeing right now, it would make it hard to transfer and integrate a new player in the team between events, it would make it harder logistically on the organizers too and, in a way, it would lessen the importance and the prestige.

bo1 randomness is very overstated i think. And BIG isn't bad.

The issue is not really randomness I think. It's the fact that teams can go through with only one or two good or very good maps.
There's certainly a balance to find between mastering all the maps in the pool or mastering only one. But one or two maps is definitely not something I would base so much on. That's one of the big reason that makes Bo3 appealing and validating, it's because you have to demonstrate that you have somewhat of a decent map pool in order to win.
heartbreak for liquid again. Their anti-force buy strats... idk man. I'm not the expert, but why rush 4 guys up mirage cat when you expect them to be on a all-in force buy? Cat is such a ump/CZ choke point. RIP
Also chopper picking up jR's slack haaaardcore. 35+ kills in regulation. Wanna see that ADR!

Kinda.
People have been digging for that DEVIL quote at the end of 2016, that reads "The issues in this team are way deeper than a single problematic player".
He was probably right.
