As an aside, they are running double XP from now until Monday, so if anyone wants to start now would be the time, even if only to play through some of the class storylines.

I love flashpoints, I find that they are much more fun than the dungeons in WoW.

I didn't play at launch so I can't really speak to how it has changed but the end game content is certainly there now, and that seems to have been the main complaint. I am mostly a pvper and in addition to the old warzones, there is very active open world pvp in the new daily area. Not to mention they just started a new ranked season for 4v4 arenas. What the game really lacks now is a large player base. Queue times can be rough at times. I tried to get into it recently because quite a few of my friends did. The game is pretty much fail from the get-go. The graphics are horrible, most quests are boring and everything is kind of meh. It might be a cool game if they made it into single player RPG with the co-op possibilities, as a MMO it is one of the worst experiences of my gaming life. I really don't know why people would pick this over things like Guild Wars 2, EVE or WoW. Hell, even Age of Conan trumps this hard.

You have to treat it as a Single player with retarted PNJ AI than runs everywhere around you (other players) and this game is pretty good. I'm the kind of guy that play solo in mmo because players annoy me as hell and this game was quite good. For a f2p game it's kind of cool. Agree that there are better games than this. But when you cited Age of conan was better than this game i became to think your post was ironic ... Because Age of conan is as good as WarZ

The thing is while Age of Conan has great ideas - awesome classes, good graphics, beatiful landscape and the best combat system of all the MMOs out there - it´s developers messed up... a lot! The game was released full of bugs and even after ~4 years classes like the HoX are buggy as hell! Plus once the players are gone there is almost no chance to get them back. I am sure that AoC would have a bigger fanbase if some of the players that left would give this game a second chance. SWTOR on the other hand has nothing besides the SW-license that makes it different to any other MMO, except its worse. Leveling, graphics, combat, quests and most of all the instantiation (does that word exist?)... are all a total pain in the ***. But still I have to admit that I played this game for a longer time. I leveled one char to 55 and one to 45 plus I did the raids... although the reason for playing this long were the two friends of mine who leveled together with me. If I had to level alone... I would have quit at level 20. So IMO AoC >>>> SWTOR, if I would have to do a ranking it would probably look sth like this: WoW Vanilla+BC > AoC:RoG>>>SWTOR

I can't understand how you played AoC and appreciated. We surely have different tastes in games The combat system in AoC is not really good as i remember. Wasn't it something like DDO but worse ? Instances in SWTOR are... bad. Just plain bad. But i really love the universe. I treat it as a KOTORish 3. I just follow the story, make side quest never play with a group etc... Graphics aren't that bad. I find SWTOR prettier than AoC... Maybe i need to go see pictures or videos of it because i really have a different vision of AoC than you. How would you put games like Aion or Shaiya in your list ? Better or worse than SWTOR ?

The voice acting is superb. Most of the quests have much better overall story line then the usual MMO. (cheesy one but existed) i actually think the "Evil" stories are much better then "good" side , by a long margin . And the sidekick is a nice touch as well . specially when you have dilemmas (slave girl as a Sith) As someone said its a nice solo game leveling experience . i would also prefer single player with co-op elements. but it works for a limited time. how ever once you max out the story i saw no reason to keep playing. Bosses and instances were not well designed and beside the first dungeon , the fun theatrical feeling disappear , which leave with a mediocre experience , pvp unbalanced . so for me this is a nice engrossing game to experience till you done with the story line , (how ever i payed - so i did not have to suffer through the grinding aspect as much ) , and pick Sith side !!!! so i would definitely recommend it as a casual leveling rpg experience. AoC - i played only the vanilla , but that game drops in quality after level 10 , where the rpg/story side disappear . and grinding is all that left . i would not recommend it for anything , it has nice graphic and dodge mechanics but its not enough to carry it through , no story beyond 10 / no raid / dungeon design . i cannot see why you would rank it higher GW2 - i absolutly loved GW , i Hate with passion GW2 , i have zero idea why people and sites recommended it . Skills sets are dumbed down , the entire thing is mesh the buttons randomly and you will be fine . most class specialization was decreased . story line is snooze fest , the dynamic content . is just the same damn thing over and over and over again (kill 10 of this , pick 10 of those . no reason what so ever to care about any npc) - its about as bad as korean MMO with a nice name to it and no dynamic stats. i would demand my money back if i could. WoW - well i played it for more then 7 years , its a nice MMO experience very polished dungeons and raids where very fun to me . pvp a bit less appealing , how ever , leveling experience is less good the swotor , but the end game is ten fold better . i played also a couple of wow clones , but they always fall short. any how , just my 2 cents and how i rate those games as a counter to joecool.

I hate it with such a passion, the game, the studio who mae it, the fat designer guy who lied to everyone. I still regret giving money to those imbeciles. And lol at saying combat was good in AoC. Those combos, letters appear on your screen in some order and you have to press them fast enough so you suceed doing a combo. That was retarded beyond words. Oh god how i hate that game. More than SC2 even. lol

I really understand why people don't like this game because it's not a MMO. But the starfighting is fun (but too redundant) and once you finished the story... well there's nothing good left. PvP is awfull. Crafting is really not rewarding etc... I can't see anygame that can achieve what Dark age of Camelott made for pvp... Also a thing that i really like in SWTOR is the f2p thing. Because i played a lot (and i mean A LOT) of Fallen earth and it's really not practical if you don't subscribe. In swtor you can unlock ONE by ONE the content of the game. So you only unlock what you want / need. I like this because you cap yourself at 10€ a month it's less than the subscribing content and you see new thing every month. I would have love fallen earth to have that system. But you can't ask a "independant" game to do what blockbuster do Swtor is as MMO like as Path of exile for me (meaning it's just a RPG when you are forced to be online but play solo. Like Diablo 3)

I dont know what your used to but there system isnt good in any sense of it. 3 dungeons (mind you this is 5man) per week and then you need to pay?, 3 bg's and then pay? Heck are they still charging to you hide the helmet which are 99% f ugly?

Heck are they still charging to you hide the helmet which are 99% f ugly? Yeah but for me, i don't care about dungeon. But if i would want to do more than 3BG i could pay to unlock (and it's something like 3$ so 2€ for me). And you have it for life. When you have your subscription at 12€ you pay for things you don't want. Like i don't want to unlock dungeon, Xp at 100% or each loot in quest. I don't care. I just want to be abble to do some crafting and follow the main quest. Swtor cost me something like 100€ (subscription at start) and i didn't use 50% of the content. So i like being abble to unlock thing that i want. I just write on a paper or in an excel sheet what i purchased (price). For exemple i play and suddenly i want to have more than 1 crafting profession. I unlock it for 3$. and that's it. At the end of the month the game costs me 3$ instead of 12. In exemple in Fallen Earth where crafting is... well everything, you can queue 1 item, 3if you have the free+ account, but if i want to unlock the 20item queue i can't just buy this. i need to subscribe for a month (and each month). So i 3month, my crafting queue cost me 21€. In swtor i would have unlock it once for something like 5€ Do you understand ? It's kind of hard to explain.

If it's not something you want, just don't roll.

I played a consular during the free trial and completed it, then uninstalled. When it went F2P, I decided to try it again. I logged into my consular and he was trapped under the ship that you're supposed to take to leave the hangar. I tried jumping, reloading, using the emergency fleet pass (that you get one of for free), using the auto-unstuck, having a party try to port me, nothing. I tried to contact support both online and in person and they told me to fuck off because I wasn't a subscriber. At that point I said fuck it and left. I should clarify, I did create a new character on the sith side and play well past that, but that experience was what tipped the scales from "horrible F2P model but can play it like a single player game" to "completely unplayable" for me.
