Good thing for ccp to do though, small, repeatable, panic'd hilarity
since i was the last to post about fitting i feel kinda addressed, but i don't follow

There are people who will spend days agonizing over how to fit something, pore over spreadsheets or extensively mess around in EFT, and still come up with fits that don't work.
I may or may not be speaking from personal experience.
oh ofc i did that aswell, i love working on fits in eft with damage graphs..... and then i try my really great idea of a structure tanked vexor and die in my first engage without a chance^^

it should be a hassle. if people lived in the systems that they owned or are at least close to them this wont be a problem.
Even living in the system, its still going to be damn annoying to kill an interceptor that has no goals other than to stay within 250k of something

He's talking about the video in the reddit thread Ramiel/Chessur linked.
Started making a series of videos talking about different ship roles in a competent small gang. I decided to start with my favorite role / position- the anti-support ships. Hope you enjoy!

have CCP confirmed that the link allows you to actually move around while it is active? I got the impression that it would stop you from moving. and really killing a guy in a ceptor that cant move for 10min is not hard work.

I couldn't even figure out where he was on his map. It was just a bunch of random clicking.

Once you can understand the tactical overlay geometry, coupled with the ships shown on overview- you can get a really good idea of where things are in the 3D space. Once you have that down, you realize that only half of the clicking is random ;D

I was suitably impressed, I'm just at the point where I feel so limited by skills that it's more than a little discouraging, which in turn makes it difficult to want to spend the time learning all the overlays!
Honestly the biggest limiting factor in eve is your own knowledge and experience. Sutonias videos show that even a 2week old pvp character can get kills solo against other players- provided you have the piloting skills and knowledge to back it up. I think people focus too much on sp. having ingame knowledge and experience with a good fit easily outweighs all of the sp in the world.

Yeah when I find time to go solo roaming, I frequently get kills on people with much more sp than me. SP matters, but so does knowledge, of both ship types and how to engage.

What kind of ships was he flying? I'm working on actually correctly manually spiraling in on targets in Merlin's atm, but stuff seems to just 2 shot me at the moment.

I'm out in Null-sec.
That takes some practice. What I did when I was learning how to do it was get shot at by a fellow Hatchery member in different types of projectile ships (with a single turret, not grouped guns) to see what they were capable of when in the hands of a well skilled pilot. Against some ships you can spiral in very quickly, but against some others you really do have to take a very, very wide spiral in. You develop a feel for it after a while.
One of the best ways to do it when you're new is to aim your camera so that your ship and your target are in line with each other, and click at the edge of your screen. You'll move towards them, but on an angle, and then you reposition your camera so that again your ship and your target are in line with each other and then click at roughly the same point on the edge of your screen. If you keep doing this, you'll spiral in at a pretty decent but far from ideal rate, but some ships will still be able to hit you hard, so it's just a good way to get a feeling for spiraling in on someone.
I mean I kind of hope it stays, it won't do major damage to defended structures, and undefended ones should die ot any thing, and the main use for them will be trolling services which looks like it will be fun.
