Haven't read book 8 yet, they just lost in Syracuse, but if they moved toward an oligarchical government it's likely due to the fact that the war was inevitably lost and they knew what the Spartans would do once in power anyways. You're right Sparta did technically declare war, but Pericles had persuaded the Athenians to harm Sparta's allies, namely, Corinth and Megara. These allies pleaded to Sparta for help, and Sparta sent an ultimatum to Athens to lift the economic ban on Megara. The Athenians refused, and the Spartans declared war to support their allies. Pericles convinced the Athenians to not lift the economic ban on Megara, and that they could not lose a long war with Sparta.

Yes, america is in huge debt to china. This is now being solved by printing more dollars. This will cause the value of the dollar to drop, a hyperinflationary (near)future is even very possible. This is part of the shifting power to china (devaluating dollar, while increasing export potential, also makes products more expensive for americans compared to chinese citizens and does part of the prosperity moves to china) And china is buying lots of shit now in europe and the USA as thier logical end game strategy. However, the devaluating dollar also vaporizes the debt america has with china. Their trillions of dollars will soon be worthless. Thats why we are now in an economical war. Yes china will win in the end and take over the leading role. Yes the explanation in this movy is pretty close to the truth. But they will not own america, not much more than we own china now i think. I just hope it will stay at an economical war. The economical war may escalate a lot more, maybe america will take laws preventing china from buying american assets in the future. I just hope america will not take it to their last remaining option to use their millitairy superiority against china.

This video is in no way racist. If you think otherwise, please spend a few minutes googling stereotype vs racism. Stereotyping certainly is racist if it's prejudicial. Now personally, If I were chinese, I would feel pretty shitty about how my race was being depicted in that video.

We consume and pollute the nature to the extremes, we multiply like viruses and have already taken over the world as the dominant species. We give nothing to the world, but just take eveything. We're the doom and bane of the world. We are the cancer of this planet. Who cares what division of our race thinks/does about each other? There are species getting extinct, marine life becoming more and more overconsumed every day, rainforests destroyed, and all people care is how much their economy is doing.

He is legally entitled to do that, and I am unfairly jumping to the conclusion that he is an axe murderer, but that's not racist... Now replace the street with a plane and the axe with a turban. Still an unfair jump to a conclusion, but still not an example of racism Um prejudice is racism, we all learn this in school and that example is absolutely terrible. How does a man with a turban compare to a guy holding an ax on the street?

You be a normal white kid living near the hood all your life and not start to stereotype people when you can count on two hands how many of your non black friends have been mugged or have nearly escaped being mugged even sometimes near a predominantly christian and reputable university. Does everyone on this forum grow up in the richest parts of the USA and are homeschooled? It is in ones best interest for their survival to stereotype. If a bunch of black kids with gang tattoos start walking down the same side of the street as me at dusk you dont think im not getting the fuck out of dodge asap? You all would do the exact same thing (or would you wave and just offer them your wallet?) yet you are the same people claiming you wouldnt be suspicious or worried if people dressed in muslim garb getting on the same plane as you. You live in a fantasy world. Send me a pic of your pet unicorn when you get a chance. Regarding the video: Yes it is meant to cause fear, duh. It isnt terribly racist, its playing off the communism/former soviet bloc ideals with the mao picture yet everyone assumes its "omg its just because they are asian". No, its because dumb americans have been brainwashed throughout history to think anything remotely resembling communism or socialism means the people are all zombie devils. The commercial would be the exact same if those people were Russian and Russia was one the verge of being the next big world power right now however none of you would be claiming racism against Russians.

This is prejudice but not racist. Race is not involved. My only point... People scream "racist" too often these days. Sometimes they do this because if you argue against what some call "racist," it is very difficult to not look like you are in the wrong.

i think bill mauer put it best when he said "there are two things those tea baggers hate most: 1) being called a racist... and 2) black people" just a bunch of crazy nutjob xenophobes. the sky is always falling in their minds but in reality absolutely no aspect of their lives has changed since obama became president. he has in no way negatively influenced their lives except now they are insane with fear because a black guy is president i cant help but laugh when i think this is the image america gives to the world. just because the craziest people are also the loudest and most vociferous that doesn't mean they are in majority
